Default strange to use CLUTCHES during the day?
I always thought that those large clutches were a night/going out thing. I would love to use mine during the day, but I don't think I've seen many people using them. Even at night, its quite rare.

I always thought that oversize clutches were made for day, whereas the small and decorated clutches were intended for night or formal occasions. I carry a large, brightly colored clutch during the day on a regular basis. It really isn't that different from a satchel or hand held bag, IMO. If it suits you and carries what you need, then it is the right bag for you!

Hmmm, you're right; they're for casual occasions.

I meant for night, going out with friends to dinner, dance clubs, bars, etc... I wouldn't carry a small elegant, decorated clutch with me to dinner and dancing, unless it was very formal (like a wedding, etc...).

I do feel like clutches are a bit more "dressy" in a way. To me, big leather handbags are too much for a night out in the city, so I wear a clutch instead (its more feminine lol).

I don't really see clutches during the day for some strange reason. I think I'll start using mine though.

I carry a larger tote to work each day w/a MBMJ clutch inside. When I go out for lunch or errands around the office, I only carry my clutch.

Yeah, a few years ago they brought in larger clutches that were always referred to as "day clutches" - I remember LAMB making some really cute ones.

wow I was just telling hubby that I can't seem to put down my Coach patent clutch(which is pretty large to me). I took it out to use one night and ended sticking with it. It fits so nicely under my arm(the wrist strap is a plus). It is so easy to use one with kids. It is also nice to change it up.

Gosh, I hope not!

I love using a clutch during the day - at the moment, I'm completely obsessed with my YSL Belle du Jour clutch in navy patent. I like not lugging a big shoulder bag (that really just reminds me of work) around the city during the day or popping out for lunch. I will also use it at night going out to dinner with girlfriends or to a movie. Clutches are a little bit dressier IMO than most bags and I certainly feel quite ladylike when I carry mine.

I have evening clutches and pochettes that I obviously don't use during the day - they're usually in satin and just look like 'evening' bags, so I save those for fancier night events.

I wouldn't personally use a clutch going out dancing in a club or something - need a shoulder bag so your hands are free in that situation!

I love using vintage oversized cluthes during the day and small clutches at night. I love vintage clutches and I use them almost everyday.

Nope, not at all. There are some glam over-sized clutches, so I think it's just the actual style and not the size that would make it "strange" or not.

Of course, knowing me, I'd use a glam clutch in an everyday setting every now and then because I would just want to use the bag and enjoy it whenever/wherever I wanted. It would depend on the setting and how serious it is though. I have my eyes on the Jimmy Choo Troy Woven Clutch in gold. I currently can't find it anywhere though.

It's true I think a big oversized clutch would seem strange at night. It would be cool to wear like a big 80's style white clutch with a white suite.

And clutches are soooooooooo popular now. Indulge!
