Stalking a B&W striped bag seen in a mag...

In Elle Mag's April 2008 issue, page 192, 'Elle Shops the Office', lower right side - there is a photo of a large black and white striped, black leather trim bag - which they identify as being by Etienne Aigner. I can't seem to find anything by Etienne that looks even remotely like this bag (it has a bit of a Lulu Guinness thing going on look-wise). In fact - I can't even find a photo of this bag on the web at all!

Anyone with that ish of Elle that can identify that bag for me? Any Etienne fans that might know of the bag I'm referring to? Thoughts, clues, any ideas much appreciated!

This bag is stuck in my head now - it's gone from a mild 'gee that's kinda cute, and would look great with this one outfit..' to 'I.. must.. have.. that.. darn.. bag...'. I tend to think the looking/not finding is mainly what is fueling the lust at this point!

That is a toughie. E-mail Aigner and ask them where you can buy it.

I was searching for this bag online and came across your post.

It's been a slow burn for me too....I thought it was cute but now it's an obsession!

I tried emailing the company but the address do not work....

Just thought I'd mention that trying to email sales help won't help :(

That's the premise that they use....if it is hard to find then you want it more....could just be a marketing ploy....

Maybe it was a typo in the magazine and it's not etienne aigner ?

It's maddening, and thank you sukinolove, I don't feel so alone now in my obsession! I've tried emailing E-A also - nada so far. Meanwhile, I've become a minor expert in Etienne Aigner http://www.etienneaigner.com/ - and Aigner Munich http://www.etienne-aigner.de/(which is the entirely different, pricier and nicier <grin> line sold in Germany).

I've not found anything from either that looks exactly like the bag shown in Elle but the black trimmed bag shown on the Aigner Munich site at the landing page for Collections/Leather does appear to have a very similar shape/size - Could be a sibling, wrong fabric tho, and I honestly don't see anything by either company that comes in this black/white (or possibly black/ivory?) striped fabric. Elle's caption showed an MSRP of $248 - which seems maybe low for the German line - and high for the US line... ??

Katie, the Balenciaga in the pix #1 is similar in style, though the stripes on the alleged "Etienne" bag in Elle are much narrower.

I'll dust off my scanner tomorrow and post the pix of this elusive bag, I do think it is possible that it was mislabeled - maybe someone can ID it (crossing fingers!) and I'm going to also post Elle.. again.. can't hurt.

I just took at Lauren's striped bags and they are adorable - and close to the look - but the prices (4 figures) make me think the mystery bag (allegedly MSRP $248) is not from Ralph Lauren. Scanner.. scanner.. where did I put my scanner LOL.

I was looking for this same bag and asked in a post "help in finding this bag" which I posted on 4/4/08. It too is an obsession for me as well. I have gone to the Etienne Aigner website and emailed them and the email came back as undeliverable. I then called the shoe line that is listed on their website and got a hold of somebody who gave me someone else's phone #. I have called that person 5 or 6 times and the person never answers or calls me back. I have come to the conclusion that the bag is just too new and is not yet available for purchase. Please let me know if you do ever find it and I will do the same.
