Does anybody have a Ruehl Handbag?

I just found their website and they have some really cute styles. The leather looks really nice too.

I would love to hear about the quality from anybody who may have one of their bags.

I've seen a few that I've liked in their stores, but they've always seemed a bit pricey for a "store" brand (I believe this chain is owned by Abercrombie.)

I actually went in the Ruehl store this weekend to look at the bags since the bags were by the entrance. I thought the bags looked interesting but also generic and it seems overpriced. I didn't know it was related to Abercrombie. I told my bf "doesn't this store remind you of an Abercrombie store." The store also reeked of perfume so we had to leave.

yeah ruehl is owned by a&f. i bought one of their bags a few years ago when the store first came out. it's a combo of leather and cloth... while the leather quality was pretty nice, the hardware started to come apart a little after some wear. so i probably would not recommend paying a couple hundred $ for one of their bags.

The employees actually spray the cologne around the entrance of the store throughout the day! They think it will attract people, but I'm pretty sure it repels more.

Yep Abercrombie and Ruehl are owned by the same company. Abercrombie is supposed to have a "west coast" feel while Ruehl is supposed to have an "east coast" feel. All the same crap to me, LOL.

Looking through their site, I don't see anything particularly special about any of their leather bags. The suede come in a icky green color and would be hard to maintain. But like I said, I don't see anything about the styles of any of them that would make me want to shell out $300+ for any of them. There are better made and designed bags at that same price.

Haha, I think the scent to attract people is crazy. I thought it was a Glade plug-in gone haywire.
Omg, why does the music have to be so loud in there, too? I'm not a square, lol, but it so loud I can't talk on my cell etc. I like to shop in a quiet store like Saks, Neiman's, Barney's, Bloomingdales, where I can actually talk to a SA. Its really lame to me to have retail shop blasting like a club. It seems like a desperate attempt to have people shop.

I worked at AF after HS and we had to spray EVERYTHING with "room spray" once an hour. Forms, rugs, fake plants, clothes, sofas...they all got sprayed. Theres actually a section in their huge binder of rules dedicated to the proper spraying technique lol

ruehl is supposed to be for the post college consumer market. i have a few things from them, but mostly because their logo is a frenchie. lol

as for the bags, they have a clutch that i fell head over heels for, and to be honest, the quality is awesome. but i still cant justify the price.

They have a store in the SF Centre... Maybe check the out IRL...
