Eh, idk. He's certainly had his opinions before on bags. I'm not sure if I could keep it knowing he found it ugly, I do respect his opinion. Some things he just doesn't understand though. I once got a Lucky Brand bag that he said was the 'ugliest thing i've ever seen' and said he wouldn't go out with me if I had it on. I wore it for a week and now it's sitting in my closet. I guess I've grown out of love with it too.

Never! I don't have a SO, but my dad makes fun of 2 of my bags constantly. I can see why- one is a MbyMJ tote with a flourescent lime green handle, and the other is a shiny silver Betseyville bag (I call it my reflector bag, lol), but I don't care. I tell him- I spent my money on them, and they make me happy.

I rarely ask my hubby for his thoughts on my bags, but he certainly does offer them sometimes! He'll say, "That's interesting," but not much more than that if he doesn't like something.

If he really hated something, it would depend on how much I loved it whether I would keep or get rid of it. If I loved it, I'd keep it. If I was "eh" about it, I'd probably get rid of it to spare the grief of the rolled eyes.

Depends on how much I like it, if I love love love it, I would keep it, I'd try not to wear it around him too much but still keep it. If I dont care for it much I would get rid of it.

But again, a birkin and a pyramid are not equivalent, imo. The Birkin is refined, and I do not see you just grabbing one with very casual wear, though the etoupe color could be a good equivalent for the ferro without the offending grey. Still it is a refined bag, and the pyramid can function over a wider range of wardrobe uses...
The same with your BV knot and python clutch. Clutches are wonderful, but do not function handbags in our modern lifestyle (remember this is just my most un-humble opinion!). They have their places in your wardrobe, but are not substitutes for the pyramid. I do know how it is, though, when the thing for which you have long lusted surfaces, and you find that you must act quickly - and find a way to offset the financial bite. You are a really smart cookie - you knew what you wanted to do.

BTW, I am not in the category of the shopper that can afford/or even wants to spend that kind of money on handbags in a month - or even 3 months... especially in the current economic environment. Enjoy your HG!
My etoupe is not getting to me until this week.... it is stopping on the way to me chez a very very very dear tPF friend so i can avoid the sales tax which is WHEW!

i took my DH to BV today to look at the FW line. he hates all the colors. when compared with my beloved ferro, which i was wearing today, there isn't a color i wanted instead. well maybe bramble, but since he really hates Rouge H, he would hate bramble. then of course there was a lady in there with a curry sloane and that was pretty fabulous and there are a couple on ebay now.... along with a GORGEOUS tea sloane....

baggiana you are absolutely right, there is definitely a place for a casual gorgeous bag like the new pyramid. my birkins and my BV knot and clutch don't fill that slot.

My SO is very respectful of what I wear. If I'm wearing it he thinks it must be good.

(Sorry if that sounds nauseating)

I'd keep things I really liked even if my SO or anyone else dissed it. Perhaps they don't like it b/c it is different and they aren't used to it. You have to take chances and risk a faux pas to be a real trendsetter, otherwise you're just following everyone else. If I was on the fence about the item and asking opinions, I would of course be open to input and consider returning the item.

I ask my DH his opinion if second thoughts come to mind before a purchase.

Also, my DH usually would like the style however may not like the color.

I won't make the purchase if DH dislikes the handbag.

As for any handbags that I have purchased prior and DH does not like I will not sell.

DH has plenty of things I don't like and he would never sell his stuffso not selling mine!

If I really liked it I would keep it. I'm the one wearing the bag, not him.

I recently bought a patent leather bag that I absolutely love. DH told me that it looks like plastic. However, everytime I use it I get remarks from other people about how good it looks. It is definitely a keeper for me.
