No. I doubt he would even have this issue unless it was some old ratty ugly bag.. to which I wouldn't carry that in the first place.
But, I honestly think your SO has issues if he/she cares about the bag you are wearing. |

OMG. There is no way that I would give up a purse, or anything else for that matter, that I love, because someone else, anyone else, doesn't like the way it looks. I value my own feelings and opinion too much!! Tell him or her to close their eyes in its presence if it's that bad!!!!!

heck no. I'd tell him to go stuff it. Luckily, he doesn't say a word about my bags, no opinions, nothing. He does say they all look alike!

i just thought if i am going to fork out the price for the reflet, would i be sad if a great etoupe birkin came my way (since i have wanted that forever) or an ottone sloane in a month... and frankly am not in the income or the emotional bracket to spend $13K on handbags in a month... and then what do you know a great etoupe birkin appeared and said, do you want to take me home? since that IS a color and bag my DH happens to like, it was a no brainer, sign me up, take my CC PLEASE! |

No. Not if I loved the bag. But I do show him my new purchases and sometimes he can influence me. One time I got a Botkier Bianca in the coated leather. He thought it looked like patent leather and was cheap looking. Since I did prefer the soft leather, that was enough to spoil it for me and I returned the bag. But I've never had a bag that he hated enough to make comments about. I think it would have to be really garish for him to notice enough to be bothered.

It's tough to say.. I probably would not buy one he didn't like, because I do value his opinion.
I did get rid of some Coach perfume that he didn't like. He told me it smelled like hairspray and then every time I wore it, that's all I could think about. |

But again, a birkin and a pyramid are not equivalent, imo. The Birkin is refined, and I do not see you just grabbing one with very casual wear, though the etoupe color could be a good equivalent for the ferro without the offending grey. Still it is a refined bag, and the pyramid can function over a wider range of wardrobe uses... The same with your BV knot and python clutch. Clutches are wonderful, but do not function handbags in our modern lifestyle (remember this is just my most un-humble opinion!). They have their places in your wardrobe, but are not substitutes for the pyramid. I do know how it is, though, when the thing for which you have long lusted surfaces, and you find that you must act quickly - and find a way to offset the financial bite. You are a really smart cookie - you knew what you wanted to do. BTW, I am not in the category of the shopper that can afford/or even wants to spend that kind of money on handbags in a month - or even 3 months... especially in the current economic environment. Enjoy your HG! |
