Doloresmia - you can "think" it my way!!!
![]() ![]() Don't think my DH has ever really commented one way or the other, but he does like the BV leather, especially the deerskin. |

Your husband hates Ferro and Rouge H???? Those are my two favourite colours from BV and H. Just for them I'd put up with any face or comments
I'm lucky my SO loves Ferro- it's his favourite colour from BV. He hated my turbolence origami tote at first though...if I recall, he went 'that's a BV???' and said it looked like a drum Admittedly that did stop me from getting it the first time around but I couldn't resist and now he's come to appreciate the workmanship and admit that it indeed is a beautiful and unique bag (plus he understands my love for purples *lol*). I'm lucky he's never really hated anything of mine, be it clothes or accessories. I wouldn't get rid of your Ferro pyramid if I were you. It's gorgeous! Rest assured we all approve of your ferro pyramid and you'll always find love and appreciation for it here (hopefully enough to overcome your dh's hate for it)

D - I am surprised that he doesn't like the Ferro, since I tend to think that most men would like the grey. I would just tell my DH that the color reminded me of him (his hair, that is) LOL Ferro is such a rich color.

Remember the LE from Bergdorf? DH made that face every time I took it out to wear... Sent it back. I know I should not care, but I do... He knows I love my Saffron, so he just smiles when I take it out. He made that face at my Orange TODS and I sold it, but I draw the line at my Saffron Pyramid!
Doloresmia, I don't have Ferro but I know my DH would not like it either, he doesn't do grays... I shop for him; anytime I bring home gray, he soen't even try it on, just vetos and says 'you know I don't like gray'. I saw Ferro recently IRL, I LOVED it, it's not just any gray! I'm so sorry your DH doesn't like it. Have you hesitated carrying the bag b/c you know how he feels? This is a tough one, it's like my Saffron Pyramid, I had to draw the line because I love the color so much. |

I'm of two minds on this, the first being that you love it, it's your bag, it's WAY more than just gray leather, keep it and use it because you love it. But if he has ruined it for you and you don't get any joy from it, then you won't love wearing it. Keep in mind that all of us here on the forum LOVE
ferro!I tend to follow my kids' opinions more. And it has taken a year to convince them that the casis campana is gorgeous. I have several bags that I just use during the day and put away at night. (Mainly so he doesn't notice how many I have , he would dislike them on that basis alone!). That way they are special for me and they don't cause any drama in the house.

I can think of 4 scenarios regarding my handbags and my husband that have occurred so far.
1) (the most frequent scenario) I love the bag, and he thinks it was a great choice, too. He frequently compliments me on it. No problem! 2) (seldom) I really like the bag. He isn't enthusiastic about it, but he doesn't actively dislike it. I use the bag without conflict. No problem! 3) (one time) I have doubts about a new bag purchase, so I ask him for a second opinion. He agrees with me that I could do better, so I return it. No problem! 4) (one time, and I hope never again-it was not a BV) I buy a non-returnable bag. I really try to love it because I had convinced myself that it would be perfect for me, but in reality I'm disappointed. He reinforces my misgivings by making "the face" whenever I use it. He thinks it was a poor choice, and I hate to admit it, but I know he's right. I cannot enjoy using it. I kick myself over it but get rid of the bag as soon as I can. When it's over and done, no problem! I don't miss it at all! I'm sorry you're having an issue over your beloved ferro New Pyramid. I haven't encountered your situation of loving the bag and him actively disliking it, so I'm not sure what I would do in that case. I'm tending to think that if there is no joy left in using the bag, I probably wouldn't keep it (assuming that I wouldn't have any regret in getting rid of it--the "no joy" would have to outweigh the possibility of regret). Good luck! |

Gah, it's ferro pyramid?!? Now that's a toughy, it's an absolute beauty and not just a simple gray leather bag! hmmmm...
ETA: As I was typing above, I somehow thought that blueiris will write some well detailed case senarios soon and there she is! Wish I could give more constructive advice, doloresmia. |

You ladies are awesome - I completely agree, ferro is not just ANY grey. if it were, i would have moved on LONG ago.
sgnsk - i wish my DH loved ferro too kroquet - he loves wearing grey, he just doesn't like it in leathers LT - absolutely i remember the LE from BG. Do you still hanker for it? I think I would have regrets if I gave up my ferro, another reason not to, but that face! alisonanna - i do the "no of course not, you have seen this bag before, i wear it all the time" when i get a question on a new bag. my DH has terrible memory so sometimes he accepts that answer and sometimes i cannot keep a straight face when i say it so crack up and ruin the whole thing. is it wrong of me to use his weakness against him? LOL blueiris - it is good to have domestic bag bliss. sounds like you and your DH have reached that nirvana Mid- - hilarious, blueiris did indeed write some excellent case scenarios, didn't she? |

Sometimes even when you love the bag at first, your SO's opinion will change your feelings for it and you might grow to not like it so much or start to see it's flaws. If that happens, then you know it's time to let it go.

K, I see your mind is working around cabat lately. Isn't it time to call a BV for yours, maybe??

Doloresmia - I can understand your need to satisfy your DH but if you truly like ferro and you are not the one who is borred of the colour then you should keep it. It is such a special colour and you might regret selling it. |
