Hello,
I found this forum while searching for a solution to the peeling patent leather on my Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr. Q lil Riz handbag. I got the bag last spring and have used it a bunch of times but I am a gentle user. The stitching on the inside has come undone, but I am more concerned about the patent peeling at the top of the bag. I already contacted the company and they don't have anything they can do as it is from natural wear and tear. The store I bought it at - Bloomingdales no longer carrys it and I don't have my receipt. So I want to try to save the bag the best I can. Does anyone know of a solution? I heard that I could put clear nail polish on it to stop it, but didn't want to do that until I checked with more people for opinions. This never happened with any of my cheap patent leather bags before. So I'm very upset that it is happening on a bag that cost as much as this one did and hasn't even been overly used. Thanks for any ideas! |

I had what sounds like the same problem with a (not patent) blue Hillier Hobo. I took it back to the store where I bought it, and they gave me a return. THey were shocked. The outer blue color was rubbing off both on the body of the bag and at the ends and by the handles.
