I've been looking for a new work bag for quite a while and I think I've settled on a Luella. I can't decide if I want a top flap bag like the Gisele though or the Bonnie tote.
I originally wanted a Mulberry Bayswater but came to the conclusion I wasn't going to be able to find one I could afford so the Gisele seemed like a good alternative. A consignment store in my neighborhood had a baby Gisele and I was surprised by how good the leather was but I noticed the straps were too short for it to sit comfortably on my shoulder and that it was quite heavy. I want an XL so I wonder if the strap length is still an issue and if it's too heavy to be manageable? The Bonnie is quite nice too but I only have totes so it'd be nice to have a different shape. |

They are nice bags but they tend to be heavy.

I own a large Gisele and yes, it's really heavy and straps are not long enough for carrying on shoulders (especially in Winter). But I really like the style and leather. I've received many complements.

If you need something for work, I would save Luella for a rainy day and go with a more appropriate bag for the time being!

Luella Gisele is a heavy bag (still not as heavy as my MJ bags!) but I love it because of the style and the quality of the leather. It is affordable, pretty/funky and very durable.
I can fit my laptop in an XL and all other things that I need since it only has 1 compartment! I would go for an EX Gisele because you can pick up a pretty good ones on Ebay for less $150. So I vote for the Gisele (Mind you I am partial to Luella Gisele) Good luck in whatever bag you decide to get. |

I used to love Luella bags when they first came out, but I also found that they were quite heavy! Good luck finding a work bag

Thanks for the advice everyone. My Gisele arrived in the mail today and I love it. It is quite heavy but it'll be good exercise!

I use the Gisele bag for travelling as my carry on (it fits a lot!) to carry my travel essential. They tend to be heavy but love, love, love the style and quality. I call it my beautiful pain bag! Get a smaller size for work use coz the bigger size can be quite big.
