Default Opinions from Foley + Corinna owners....

Hi ladies!

Up to now, my purchases have pretty much revolved around the two brands I love the most - Rebecca Minkoff and L.A.M.B., but I've been browsing around and have found that I really like the Mini City Tote and the Jet-Setter Jr. bags. I'm considering getting them in the near future, but I'd like to get some overall opinions from owners(since I've heard good and bad things regarding quality).

*How are they holding up over time?
*How does the quality compare with other brands?
*Are they high maintenance(do you have to baby them, basically)?
*Are there any products or methods that are "no-no's" in regards to cleaning/conditioning them? What products do you use?
*Are all their leathers created equal or are some holding up better than others?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'll let others chime in on the other aspects but I just wanted to let you know that they have discontinued the Mini City as of Fall 08...
Also, the pebbled and 'naked' leathers have traditionally held up better than any of the Glazed ones...but that should be true for pretty much any glazed leather from what I understand.

I have the glazed leather jr. jetsetter. I have had her since about January. She is a beautiful eggplant color and I get stares & compliments but I would be very upset if I paid full price for her. Originally $528.00, I got her for around $220.00. The longer I use her, the more broken in she looks (which is a good thing) but the more the glaze cracks and wears off showing an ugly base underneath. I would say go for the Jr. Jetsetter but I wouldn't buy the glazed leather though they are beautiful.

I have a metallic City Tote and while I love it for the look and the style...I would NOT pay full price for one. It's looking worn near the top of the bag and I've carried it only a few times. I'll def buy another one if the price is right but at full price, no way. They don't even come with sleepers.

This is good to know- I've been looking at a half city at Nordies over the past few weeks, and discovered it just got knocked down 25% the other day- if it goes down again at the sale next week, I think I'll probably grab it- otherwise, sounds like it may not be worth it. Which makes me sad because that leather is just so soft an squooshy...

That's unfortunate the mini will be continued, that's my favorite size! I don't know what leather I have, but it's not glazed or metallic, and it's held up pretty well. I only noticed a flaw when I initially got it (there was a split in the leather attaching the loop for the detachable strap). As a result, I never put too much in my bag, and the split hasn't gotten any bigger.

I have a glazed Mid City Tote in Honey and I love it. I do not baby my bags -- I drop them, bump them, put them on the floor, don't condition them, don't put them in dust bags, throw them over my shoulder, throw them over my shoulder, put them on the ground when I'm putting groceries in my car... Basically everything you're not supposed to do to a bag I do to mine. My Mid City Tote hasn't failed me yet, and the leather looks better the more I beat it up. The glaze is wearing off but in this particular leather/bag I don't mind it, esp. since it's not my main work bag.

My jet setter jr. just arrived, so I don't know how well it will hold up yet. The leather is so smooth and gorgeous, nicer than RM leather in my opinion. It's my first FC bag, but I will definitely look into this brand some more. I got the lichen color on sale for $250.

Where can you find them on sale? I've been looking at the City Tote forever. I love the blue or fushia. Thank you!

^ I was sooo tempted to get this bag when it went on sale for $250 on ShopBop the other week, but I exercised some self restraint. Please let me know how you like the bag though and I'd love to see some pics!!!

I have the jet setter jr. in the senape color that was special to ShopBop awhile back -- it is sort of yellowish. IMO, it is a great bag, particularly for work, and it is my most complimented bag (not sure whether it is the shape or the color that people like). Overall, I've been quite happy with it!!!

I have both a plum distressed leather Anna Corinna mini city and an olive naked leather Foley + Corinna mini city.

The distressed one starts looking dry and I just rub in some Lubriderm. I haven't treated the olive one, but the handle has darkened a bit from hand oils.

I've had the plum since September 2006 and haven't had any construction quality issues.
