No Cute - what about the Emerson? I like the Mercedes too, but the person needs a bit of style to carry that off. The Emerson is a little smaller and somewhat more conservative. We are all used to the size of these clutches, but for some it is truly a shock at first site! But you know the style of the secretary. I have not seen the Emerson IRL though.

Still wishing I'd grabbed a Tiffany that I could fill with pedicures and gift cards and other luxuries. (Hoping all 50 families feel generous this gal is the backbone of the school.)

Is Margot worth it? Should I try for Mercedes? Price matters as the folks I've mentioned the idea to thought 59 a lot for a bag.
I have both a Margot and a Mercedes, and I much prefer the Margot. I like the simple structure of the Margot and that it can fit more. I have it in the Amethyst color, which is lovely.

I'll look at the Emerson, thank you, azureartist.

thenorthwords, the Margot you have feels nice, good quality? The ones I saw at NMLC felt plasticy.

Default Yikes. Weird color on the petrol!
So I received my petrol tiffany yesterday. Love it for the most part but one of the panels of leather is lighter on one side so it's like petrol panel - petrol panel - med/dark teal panel - petrol panel. It's not obvious unless it's held in flourescent or sunlight. When I flattened out the panel a bit, the panel actually looked like it was way more blue than the other wrinkles in the other panels. It's not easily noticeable (as though it's a considerably different color) but if you stare at it for more than a quick glance, then I think you can see it. Is this what it's supposed to look like or does this sound like a flaw? I contacted them via e-mail so I won't hear back until Monday but I'm not sure if I even want to go through the hassle of an exchange.

No Cute - My Margot is super shiny, but I can tell that it is real patent leather. It is smooth and pliable and smells like leather. I've felt PVC/fake patent and there is definitely a difference! However, if you have already seen and felt a Margot and didn't like the texture I'm not sure if you would be satisfied with one. Personally I love the patent on the Margot.

Emma - I have a Petrol Tiffany as well, and I just looked at my panels. There is one panel that looks darker and bluer than the others, but to me it's a subtle difference. I see it as natural color variation in the dyed leather and it doesn't bother me at all. But, if you will you bothered by it whenever you carry it, I would ask Goldenbleu about a possible exchange.

Emma - I have the Petrol and mine looks matched. I have an Avocado Green one and the panels are a bit mismatched - I know what you mean though. I agree with thenorthwood about doing an exchange. Their CS rocks! BUT if you cannot exchange it - perhaps you can use some leather conditioner to darken that one panel. Experts - please chime in here.

Ya, it's definitely leather. I think the ones I saw at NMLC had been handled A LOT...the seems and such were just cheap...but I think, like I said, the patent was nice (though I did not like a white button on the purple...love the new look with all purple.)

Thanks for all the information! I really appreciate it. It will be, I believe, her first designer bag, so I'm being obsessive on trying to get it right

Well, I'm not sure if I can consider it a subtle difference for that panel because it was obvious enough that both my male boss AND my boyfriend noticed it. Granted, they didn't notice it until I asked them to scruntinize that side to see if they notice anything "off" but still, if two men notice (two men who know nothing about fashion), then I think it may be significant enough to warrant concern. I understand the natural variation in dyed leather, but this almost looks like it was a patch from another color bag! I'm debating if I want to pursue an exchange because that seems like a hassle.

Wow, if two guys not into fashion noticed, I'd send an email asking about the bag.

Did/does it bother you that the panels on the avocado aren't really matched? I'm debating if it should bother me that much. As my boyfriend said, it is a $59 bag marked down from $199. That's a significant enough discount to be satisfied, he thinks.

Yes!! All Tiffany clutches are $59!!! I just picked up a beige Tiffany the other day! The sales are AMAZING!! I don't think there's a bag on the site (in outlet, or in regular collections!) for more than $199! This is DEFINITELY the time to buy GB!!

Hi Emma - yes I am very picky and it would bother me about your Petrol. My Avocado had a darker, lighter, darker panel so it looked a little more "on purpose" to me. I would email their CS - ask for Miu-Hai (she is wonderful - read back a few posts). I'm sure they will do an exchange - especially since they have it in stock. I hope you don't have to pay for return shipping - don't be afraid to ask. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I think I might just give up on this whole clutch business. I e-mailed/replied to my receipt/invoice on Friday night and I left a message two hours ago this morning at the 888 number. I've also called repeatedly and the 888 number just keeps saying that they're assisting other people. I know you guys say their service is great, but I'm beginning to get really skeptical. I know this clutch is a final sale item, but the least they can do is e-mail me back and tell me that! Even Hayden Harnett e-mailed me back first thing the next business day about my order. I also forwarded/replied to the receipt HH sent me, the same way I e-mailed GB.

Grrr. I don't mind if they won't exchange it. I just want to be sure so I won't always be guessing and wondering *if* I could've done it.

Not hearing back is really annoying. I'm sorry.

I've been googling Goldenbleu and I found a 415 number, which is the local number for them. http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_jt4gbp

Do you think I should just try calling back that number? It's just that I've never heard of waiting all day for a customer service issue. I don't have any missed calls and I've used the form on the Web site, sent two other e-mails and left two phone messages. I've also called persistently throughout the day and no one picks up!

At least at Hayden Harnett, I received an immediate reply saying they got my e-mail and the rep responded immediately the next morning. It was waiting for me when I logged in!
