Here are some pics, not so good, but at least U get an idea of size.
I'm 4'11"......

Alba in Fawn (jacket is hanging off the back of the bag) and Mercedes clutch in patent Carbon.
Both are well made and very easy to carry....the organization inside the clutch is fantastic....cell pocket, another pocket, zippered compartment on other side and a key fob......

I think it looks understated and elegant without the hardware. But if you're concerned - I would choose a color that shows off the structure/stitching.

I love Goldenbleu bags! I have the white Luella bag and gave the patent red mini parker to my MIL recently, she was absolutely in love with it!

Oh and on a sidenote: I noticed there were a few Goldenbleu bags carried on Gossip girl as well. Jenny was carrying the mini parker in yellow and another one later on (don't remember which one that was though..)
