Hi guys, due to the nature of my work I'm going to have a travel alot. While on business trips I need a bag to carry my laptop, my thick files and my other personal items on board, as well as for lugging and throwing around with me at all times. bearing in mind the weight that I will be required to carry around, i need to find a new work bag asap! i'm currently using the botkier trigger and it simply can't take all the weight and the bulk - so i've shortlisted some:
1) longchamp large long handle - but it looks flimsy and i'm worried how the handles will hold up against the weight of the items 2) botkier sasha large duffle/hobo in nylon - good for throwing around i guess since nylon will be waterproof as well, but i'm wondering if i can stuff all the baggage in 3) treesje avalon regular - i really love the size and structure of this bag, but similarly i'm worried if i can fit all the things i've mentioned into the bag, not to mention how the bag will feel over a long time over my shoulder with all the weight since it's made of leather PLEASE HELP! i'm torn and i have to get the bag soon because i have a few trips coming up. sigh.

I think the Longchamp will be very practical in the long run, without the worry like you would have with the other two brands getting scuffed on the way. If you're concerned about the weight, they sell the rigid platform shapers on eBay I think.. I know they have it for the Herve Chapeliers and they might have something similar for Longchamp

Try the large nylon Sasha. If all of your stuff will fit in the Trigger, it will fit with room to spare in the large Sasha.

Longchamp will hold up and last foreverr!! I have the large one with the longer handles and I stuff all of my textbooks AND a 15" laptop in it and carry it around every single day. My laptop alone is 7 pounds. I lug around 10+ pounds in it and its lasted for over two years now.

I vote Longchamp.
Have you considered the Burberry nylon bag? They have a bigger one too if needed, and it comes in a wide variety of colors. http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/...=1254620500663 |

For heavier thing I like to carry Herve Chapelier bags. The bags are a little bit thicker and so are the handles!

How big is your laptop? Is this bag too big?

my laptop is average sized, but rather heavy. together with the files which i am not allowed to check in, i'm afraid the handles of the longchamp can't handle it :( though i'm quite inclined towards the longchamp.

If you're not as concerned with high fashion for this particular bag and are willing to go with something a little less expensive, I recommend the Julie bag from REI:
http://www.rei.com/product/778772 I was looking for a throw-around bag a couple of weeks ago and eventually decided to go with this one in black. It's inexpensive but durable, and I love it so far! I use it for toting stuff to my voice lessons, as well as for the occasional work-related Starbuck's trip. The bottom is thickly padded in case you want to carry a laptop (it doesn't have a separate laptop compartment though, so you'd probably want to use a laptop sleeve). The roomy front pocket contains credit card slots and pen holders; I use this front area for my "purse" items and the inside for work-related stuff. The side pockets are great for water bottles or an umbrella. Also, it's "green," which is a plus. |

I vote for the longchamp large leather tote. I have had one for years and travel often too. Always looks professional and holds a ton of junk. It's not hard on the shoulders, either. And the leather holds up very well. Still shiny after being stuffed under the seat in front of me hundreds of times!
