Milk & Honey, you might want to opt for a small suede attachment to help keep the straps on your shoulder.
newbaglover is getting this, so perhaps she'll join in here and describe it to you.
LindaP is also opting for something in suede to help keep the straps from falling off her shoulder. I'm not sure exactly what it is, so I'm hoping she will chime in here to provide much greater detail than what little I mention here.
The flat straps are what come with the Sofia line and strike me as being a bit more casual. I think the rolled handles exude sophistication. I honestly don't know which is more comfortable, as I have not yet received any Ignes bags with rolled handles.
I'm 4'11" and am happy with the original drop of the Mini Sofia.
Keep in mind that the depth of the Mini Sofia is 3" with a slim profile, so this bag will not jut out as bags with a greater depth.
Also consider if you will wear your bag shoulder-style with a sweater, jacket, or coat. If you shorten its drop, it may be too short to wear with something heavier.

I'm still pondering whether to get rolled or flat straps for a mini Sophia - after scanning the forum, there seems to be a strong preference in general for flat straps, as they're more comfortable, apparently? Is that a correct assumption to make? (I know each bag/person is different).
I've just taken whatever handles came with the bag before, so having a choice is astonishing! I'm really not sure what would be best and most comfortable for both shoulder and arm-carrying. I really need the bag to be up to both.
I know whatever I get will have to be shortened as I'm 5'2", and average length straps have a tendency to fall off my shoulder, or make the bag sit just at the right height to jut out & knock over displays!
