Question I saw a bag today that blew me away!
A young girl came into the school office today and plopped down her black bag. I immediately recognized the bag as Rebecca Minkoff because the sides had the dog latch but then she picked it up and put it on her shoulder. The strap was a chain with a leather strip on the shoulder part and it looked like the front of the bag had a gold ornament. For the first time ever, I felt too uncomfortable to ask her the name of the bag especially since she is a teenager. Uugh!! The leather looked soooo soft. It was I think a rectangular shape and was truly beautiful. I thought only RM used that kind of hardware on her bags! Anyone have any idea who the manufacturer is?

Could it have been a Coach Sabrina?

Nope. The thing that bothered me was it looked just like a Rebecca Minkoff Nikki hobo except for the strap. The dog latches were connected to a chain instead of an all leather strap and some sort of logo on the front!

Furla makes a bag that has a shape identical to the RM Nikki, but I'm not sure I've ever seen one with a chain strap.

I'd hunt that girl down & ask her what that darn bag is, lol! You probably won't stop thinking about it til you do & besides she'll feel complimented by your taking notice of it & asking about it. :)

crazyboutcoach - You sound like you know me! That's exactly what I intend to do the next time I see her! In fact I'm surprised at myself that I didn't ask her because every time I see a bag I like I always compliment the person and ask them if I want to know who makes it. I think it was because she's a kid (who probably got her mom's bag) or her mom bought it for her! I will let you guys know! I'm bursting with curiosity!

Was it a smaller bag? The traditional MAC (Morning After Clutch) is a rectangular bag with a front dog leash clasp and chain straps that can be worn as a long shoulder bag, cross-body, doubled up as a regular shoulder bag - you name it! I can't think of any other RM bags that have a chain strap and would match your description.

Here's a picture as a sample (obviously a different color). You are more than welcome to join us in the RM forum. The ladies there are super helpful and can definitely help you find a great black MAC (there are tons of varieties even for black - smoothy leather, pebbled leather, haze leather).

Lol, I saw someone with a great coat today and chickened out from asking where she got it. Too bad because it was a great cut for me! I don't even know why I didn't ask, I'd be super flattered if someone asked me!!

I've asked ladies about bags, just to cheer them up. It always brings a smile to their faces.

And just in case, here's a pic of the MAC with the RM Signature hardware on the front:

Pic isn't mine, btw. Just posting it here for reference.

Reading it over again, I'm pretty sure the description would match the MAC too. If not, then please ask the RM girls! The gals there will be happy to help.

Thank you everyone! I'm not sure it was the RM Mac. In any case, you all do know that if I see this girl again, I am going to approach her and tell her what a magnificent bag she has on and blurt out what it is on the forum! Thanks again! You are all sooo wonderful!!

However, once you do find out what the bag is... you will let us know. Right?

I am super curious now.
