Default I have a GREAT IDEA if you want to sell your bags!!!

...everyone who is listing their bags on eBay should put the initals "TPF" somewhere in their TITLE.

that way the rest of us can do a SEARCH for 'TPF' to find the bags being sold by our trusted fellow members !!!

example...

Authentic Black Leather Botkier TPF like new!

What do you guys think?!!

This is a great idea! But we have to be careful since anyone could put that word in their titles though.

I think this is a smart idea, but, members should con't to get bags authenticated, just b/c we all know there are liars out there on eBay that pretened that they are members when we know that they aren't!!

As a buyer, I would *love* to know if I were buying from a tPF'er - it would lend a tremendous amount of credibility and trust to the seller.

DEFINITELY need to keep getting things authenticated !!!

i just know i felt better buying my Dior Gaucho from a TPFer. I was able to search her posts on TPF and get a sense of her as a person.

also if she screwed me, she knows i could 'OUT' her on TPF so there is an accountability factor.

and of course, there will always be posers and scammers -- it's not a foolproof idea but its something

:)

a lot of members already do this.

and honestly, it's not something you can really trust. anyone can sign up here, for free. it doesn't make them honest and trustworthy. sad but true.

People do use tPF in their auctions. Always a good idea to get their username and see how active they are (and confirm with a PM that it's actually them)

I sell my no longer appreciated bags on e-Bay every once in a while, and have been putting "member of TPF" some where in my auction since becoming a member in 2006. This way, any potential buyers can request my TPF ID, and research me if they feel the need to do so. Personally, I feel my feedback speaks volumes, but it does help to give buyers a little piece of mind.

I have to agree with kimalee. Just because a seller indicates they are a PF member, is not a guarantee they are honest. Always take additional steps to insure you will not be taken advantage of or sold a fake bag.

hey gang, i KNOW anyone can put "TPF" in their auctions. I'd have to be braindead not to realize that! Just like anyone can put "authentic" in their auction. you still have to check it out. You still should ALWAYS go to TPF to 1) read their posts and 2) have the bag authenticated.

I just found it really helpful and reassuring that the person i bought my bag from was on TPF.

Also, i know some people put TPF member in their descriptions (like my gaucho girl). but that's not searchable. Or it is but only IF the buyer clicks to 'search title AND description.' If they just 'search' it won't show up... personally i NEVER searchtitleandescription.

BUT if you put TPF in the TITLE, then it will come up right away when you search TPF.

just a thought...

Well can you get your bag authenicated before you post it on eBay? And then list the link in your auction?

^Spielberg1^ Actually, one step better. Put "TPF" and then if they're not sure...ask them to give their TPF name and you can then PM them to prove you are who you are.

Then it would be secure. Or ask them to e-mail you and then you can then give them your TPF name if you like the way they sound when they ask you. Some people come right off as obnoxious and you don't want everybody on the Internet to know your TPF name either.

So, that's a suggestion. I haven't ever shopped or sold anything on eBay yet but this is a good suggestion.

Take care,

Good idea, but like others have said everybody who isnt a tpf'er will start doing it. I put that im part of tPF in my listings and encurage buyers to contact me for my member name. Then they have the option to contact me if they wish to. x
