When people who own Coach and Dooney feel they are inferior, how can that make people who are TRYING to SAVE to buy a Coach or a Dooney? I imagine those with less confidence have read through threads here and opted to not even post, because they feared no one would take interest in the bags they own/want to buy. I have some very wealthy friends and some who are scraping by with very little money. I feel I fall into the middle somewhere, but really love to hear how to save money just as much as I love to talk about spending LOTS of it! (saving-I am not good at that-you know the old saying "the more you make, the more you spend...")

And Chloe...Nine West had some REALLY cute bags on there yesterday! I need to go find another!

Stickied means attached to the top of the forum (in this case Handbags & Purses) so it doesn't drop off the page.

I agree that everyone should feel welcome. No matter what their income/spending habits.

That's a good looking bag!

Shame you can't splurge at the moment.

I am liking a couple of the bags on sale at Spiegel right now. Like this one for $55:

I like the brown even better but I cannot get the link to work and can't grab a pic b/c it changes when I use my cursor. If you search etro paisley tooled leather bag on eluxury it comes up. I just love the tooled, glossy leather and the hardware, and even the lining is this FABULOUS bright blue satin....*sigh*
That is the price I must pay for getting my finances in tip top shape!
On the flipside, I think that the little clutch from Nine West will, at the very LEAST, curb this undying craving for paisley tooled leather.

And Jillian, that "kinda spy" bag is cute! I do not think it looks close enough to be deemed a "replica", either, though some may disagree. I am liking the price point, though!

Thumbs up Re: Great cheap bags...
Gosh, that is a lovely bag and the lining is absolutely gorgeous!

I really can't fault it.

I love paisley motifs and tooled leather, but I'm not usually into structured, ladylike bags that much (the only structured bags I tend to like are clutches); so if I love it, despite that, it must be good!

ETA: Sorry, I'm really not helping, am I?

I know. I want them both. The urge is not going away, and it has been more than a month. I am glad to know that I am not crazy in loving this bag. I LOVE structured, so that part is me, it was the paisley, tooled thing that I thought people might not like, even though I think it is gorgeous. Oh how I hate trying to be responsible and plan ahead!!!

Sadly, this is how I felt when I first joined. I've belonged to this forum for a long time but I was really overwhelmed by the expensive bag posts and felt very out of place. But I kept coming back to lurk. Then one day I saw a thread where someone else expressed exactly how I felt and the support she got was overwhelming! So, I took the plunge and started to post. I realize now that it's about the bag, not the cost. If you love it who cares how much it cost! I have a darn $400 bag sitting in my closet because I'm afraid to carry it and here I am proudly and happily carrying my $50 JCPenney bag! And shall I tell you how many compliments I have gotten on it in the past couple of days?! Anyway, thanks djgirl for your heart! This has been so much fun and is so refreshing!

Sorry for this long post.... now, as for the Lulu bags, how does the pvc feel? I am really bad at wanting only leather but those are really cute! I need a tote and am really loving that yellow one for summer! I wanted a yellow bag but don't want to spend even $50 on one! That may fit the bill!

And I'm trying to think of where I saw another tooled bag that was just beautiful but not too costly. If I think of it I'll post. I usually don't like tooled myself but this one caught my eye and I seem to remember thinking it wasn't a bad price. Your dream bag reminded me of it though. Hope I can remember!

Yes, please do tell, if you think of it. As far as the Lulu bags, I am not sure that I have a pvc one, but I can say that I am fairly sure it would be very soft. The bags I have are more of a fabric, and one is kind of an "ultra suede". That being said, I think the brand is great for trends and I doubt you will be sorry!
Oh, and thank you for your kind words!:) Glad to hear your new bag is a hit. I find it so funny that some of my cheapest bags gather compliments left and right. It is a little crazy, hugh?

Wow...less than 10 bucks for that bag! A total steal!

Bloomingdales.com - BCBG Max Azria Tooled Front Shoulder Bag

djgirl, I think this is the bag I was thinking of and it's not the steal that I thought it was unless I saw it somewhere else cheaper. I just can't recall now! When I handbag hunt I can never keep straight what I've seen! Sorry!

And thanks for the info on Lulu! I'm giving it a try! I ordered a yellow tote for $17.90 and of course shipping at Nordies is only $5! I'll give a report when it gets here!

DeAnna, I used to browse ebags a LOT, and was drawn to Sydney Love's bags mainly because of her dogs and cats collection. Thank goodness ebags doesn't ship overseas otherwise I'd end up ordering most of her dogs & cats bags.
