I have the large one in a dark brown suede leather. I must admit that I have a feeling that it's a little too large for me as I'm only 5'3. And it gets a little heavy too but nevertheless I love it.

It's now April 2008. They came out with this bag in a lovely salmon/pink color. For so much money, do you just buy it in black? Also, are they over since this style has been out for a long time now??

Yes, I ordered the large (the only way Barney's currently has it w/smushy black leather and metallic ostrich handles), but I returned it. I just can't get past the 2k price, as I have too many other expenses right now. I also wished it was just a tad smaller, but bigger than the medium.

But it was just too much $$$ for me right now. I was feeling guilty.

I say buy it in whatever color YOU like. I would go w/black personally because it goes w/everything and you can get a lot of use out of it. I see this as a classic shape & style and believe it will stand the test of time. It's not a trendy bag at all.

If you aren't averse to ebay, you might be able to save a few $$$ vs. buying brand new or directly from a store. It's all what you're comfortable with.

I am wondering if this bag is faked alot? Is it safe to buy second-hand? There is no authentication for Givenchy here

I don't know if Givenchy is faked, but I have a couple of suggestions for sellers. Leshent and desire009 are good.

which leather type is the original carried by the olsen's ... and does anybody know the closest style to this being sold now? there are so many on barneys.com, and its hard to spot what's different about them ... thanks :)

The nightingale is most DEFINITELY copied, and with scary accuracy. There's several notable signs of a fake though, which are easy to spot once you know what you're looking for.
