Hi all:
I recently received this Marni double handle ballon bag in plum suede. It's amazing. It is versatile because when you take off the strap and zip in the corners, you have a different bag. It's color is rich and plentiful. It goes great with all colors, esp naturals and dark denim. ::Problem:: It retailed for $1650 and is SUEDE. It being suede and a high price is an issue because I want to be able to use it for a long time and suede is known for being high-mai. Yes, it does come in different colors but the leather kind is a very thin goat leather and looks like the texture of a plastic sack.About the color - I stepped out of my comfort zone and purchased a color. I always opt for black...which means I have many black bags. Any suede care instructions? Should I keep the suede color or opt for the thin leather type? You expertise is great appreciated! ![]() Mari

OMG!! That bag is GORGEOUS in every way. It is WAY better than the smooth leathers IMO. I would spray the heck out of it w/ a suede protectant ie Vectra or Applegarde and not worry about it. It is a darker color so it won't show dirt as easily and ENJOY. That is one of the best bags I have seen this season!![]() ![]() CONGRATS & welcome! |

I would keep it! It's gorgeous! I had one of the patent leather ones and I returned it because it felt like plastic and the leather had no substance to it so it was shapeless.

I think that you should keep it, but I am biased because I love Marni...I love that bag and was considering the grey suede version for myself.

I love it
I agree - SPRAY it! I found that you should even spray the regular goatskin leather Marni bags to protect against water, and should spray every couple of months. |

Ladies of Purseblog....thank you sooo much for the input and responses!
![]() I did some research and am either going to spray it with Apple Garde or have it professionally protected by the http://www.lovinmybags.com lady. There is even a purse spa option. Take a peek at the before and afters...pretty amazing. I read that with suede, the best defense is a good offense...so I'm just going to keep it protected and hopefully it will bring me joy for years to come. ![]() I'm such a newbie when it comes to this. I had no idea you people existed...It's like finding water in the desert to quench your thirst! ![]() xoxo Mari

As everybody else has agreed - that bag is purple-fantastic and I'm so glad you're going to keep it.
![]() I also have a suede bag that cost a fortune, it's mid-blue and I sprayed it twice before I used it (even though these bags are usually protected and the tanning stage too) and I've had no problem. So far. But Every time I carry it I do take a large plastic carrier bag - just in case of an unexpected downpour. Just to be safe

I'm not sure if you're still around - not many postings - but I'm wondering how your bag is holding up? It really is beautiful!
