^^OMG!! That's just craziness.

I have to say I loved the bag more when Charlotte Gainsbourg was the face of GD and was carrying it. Mamie Gummer just isn't right or inspiring for the brand (and my sales) to me.

edit to add: I've always wanted a "48" hours plain black bag (smooth leather, no pockets) but I don't think I'll ever get one now that the price is so high. I should have purchased it years ago when it first came out. Sigh....

I paid a little over $330 USD for the two "24-heures" bags I purchased in Paris in October. Ann's Fabulous Finds sometimes has gently used ones for far less than the US retail stores are charging.

So I just check delcina. A new regular 24 hours bag is $460. - a couple of years ago it was around $275.00 so that's a pretty big price hike.

The 48 hours bag I wanted is close to 1000.00! For that much I'll just purchase another Balenciaga...

I am going to keep my eyes peeled for the bag I want, but I am slightly hopeless here. :-(

I am glad this thread came up - I am going to France in May and was thinking about buying a GD. They have hit Australian shores and are still novel (at least in Perth where I live - it's the middle of fashion nowhere!!). Anyways, I know it will be a rare siting here!

I had a look at the website and they look like a very nice basic bag. As long as they aren't too outrageously priced, I will probably grab one. They are charging a fortune here I noticed - I think if something is trendy AND French to boot, they put a huge mark up on them. A basic one costs about AU $1000 I saw recently which really surprised me. But then again, with the exchange rate to Euros, they might cost that much anyway.

I'm in France now, in the south. GD bags still seem to be very much alive and kicking. It took me a while to get into them. Perhaps early on I saw a lot of fakes. But now I think the 24 Heures is lovely. Relatively inexpensive in Ireland as well. So I may buy one there when I get back. Even though officially I'm not supposed to be buying any more bags for a while!

I've a feeling that GD bags aren't very popular in Ireland. A few months ago a GD department was introduced in Ireland's top department store Brown Thomas. I used to like admiring the bags but not the clothes. Then a couple of days ago I decided to stalk the GD department as I was considering buying a GD 24-Heures bag. It had completely disappeared. The assistant said it had never taken off. Not in Limerick anyway!

Hi everyone, im french :) that's right GD bags are very "famous" here, a lot of people have it. I wanted one last year but too much people have it now...
I'd love to have linea pelle, balenciaga or rebecca minkoff in france !!
GD 24h is at 240€ so 320$, it's not too expensive.
If you have any questions ...

I saw lots of GD bags in France a few weeks ago. They're really lovely and several French towns have GD boutiques with GD clothes as well as bags.
