I visited the States earlier this year and purchased my first and only Makowsky bag. I knew nothing of this 'designer' but what caught my eye was that it was on sale at Nordies. A friend gave me some money as a gift and as the bag was reduced to about $150.00 [as I recall] I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

True that may sound a lot to you guys but here in Oz, we pay a LOT of money for designer bags [a Balenciaga can set you back close to $3000.00!]. So I tried it on, it looked nice and sat well on my shoulder which is very important for me.

Five months later it's still fine. It is a bit heavy compared to the bag I carry mostly but I've had a few compliments on it. The compartments in it though are few and far between and my major criticism. I do like the leather so - quite soft.

Given the chance though, if I did visit the US again I'd stick to Rebecca Minkoffs and Chloes [my 2 faves]

Your discount stores [ie TJ's, Marshallss etc] are amazing though. Wish we had something like that here.

I bought a gorgeous white bag of his about 2 years ago for about $200. (I later learned that it was a cousin of the RM Nikki.) It was well made, and fit great on my shoulder. It was my go to summer bag until my dark blue jeans stained the white leather. I still have the bag, and I might dye it.
