There were a ton of Makowsky bags at my Nordstrom Rack today. The prices were about the same as TJM, only the bags seemed better handled.

I would say, buy them on sale. A friend of mine shops at that DSW place and I have browsed the bags from time to time and see them there.
I also believe that QVC or HSN sells them. |

I love my B Mak bag!! I so think they are worth the money. They look great! They feel great! Check them out - try the hardware, open them up, try 'em on. I think they are very well made - better than some of the $500 bags I have bought! I only have one, but will definately add more!

I haven't read through all of the replies here, but my feeling is that you can get a great Makowsky bag on sale or at TJM or Marshall's. I would never ever pay the full price for one. But they are nice bags, but not worth the full retail price.

I've seen a lot of these bags on sale at Nordies with coloration problems. The leather is incredibly soft, but I don't think the craftsmanship is there. I don't own one, but that's just what I've noticed in stores.

I think the styles are very nice but I can't stand that dark, leopard lining. They are also quite heavy. My local TJMaxx has lots of them.

there were a ton of them at TJM yesterday, but you had to really weed thru them. They had alot of marks on the leather and seemed like they were really manhandled, because the leather seems pretty durable so it surprised me they had so many blemishes

I've had good luck with many B. Makowsky bags, I have heard of the color transfer issue, but I think it's because pebble leather in general has a problem with this. Not bad for the price though. T.J. Maxx is usually loaded with these.

I love a lot of his styles, and considering what $600 gets you with some of the designer bags, I don't think they're really overpriced. Granted, I've not paid full retail for any of them--I've either gotten them on sale, on QVC, or at Marshall's/TJ Maxx. I went through a major B. Makowsky phase--I'm kind of over it now, but I do really like a lot of his styles and the quality of leather he uses. I haven't ever had a particular quality issue with any of mine.

I agree that B. Makowsky bags are nice, fairly good quality and have very soft leathers, but that you can often find them for less than MSRP. Marshall's and TJ Maxx carry them, as do other discounters. Other times, you can find them on a great sale in a department store. I, too, am not a big fan of the lining, but the bags are pretty decent overall.

I hate his leopard lining, but the newer lining- the polyester suede one- is nice!

I was in a Coach outlet store about 2 months ago looking for a brown leather bag. The prices were reasonable but not one Brown Leather bag was catching my eye. I did not purchase a bag at the Coach outlet store, on my way home I stoped at TJ maxx and as soon as I walked in I saw a beautiful bag and went right to it. I was a B. Makowsky bag in brown leather with a $120.00 tag on it. The leather was so soft, hardware beautiful! It actually felt better quility then the coach bags that I saw at the outlet store and it was about $100.00 cheaper! I purchased the bag and I love it! I would for sure buy another one in a heart beat!

I think they are good bags, but I would never pay full price for one because they are always available for way less at TJMaxx and Marshalls. Not sure about durability, but the have tons of styles that are practically.
