The media wants to make a story. It's relationship to the truth is always debatable. But it was a fun clip to watch. Claude is a consummate gentleman--so gracious.

I think she did a great job! Obiously the stitching and leather quality is not the same but her proportions are really right on.

You guys should wtch the one on Louboutin shoe too.

I saw the one with the Louboutin shoes too but at least they acknowledged the louboutin was truly much better quality (after slicing into it yipes!) Claude saying it was a very good job, and SA's as well kind of disturbed me lol. Im sure he was being gracious, as he is such a sweet guy.

Neatly done. If I made my own, I wouldn't pass it off as the real thing. I'd say I made it and I'm proud of making it. But I don't have the time or the tools to even try this right now and I'm sure that the leathers that Hermes used accounts to part of the pricey price tag.

Hi!
Please only post a topic one time. We realize a lot of topics could belong in a few forums, but please choose just one as we don't allow the same thing posted multiple times.
Thanks!

I think it was more obious with the Louboutin (I was waiting for them to do that from the start when I saw those awful plastic soles! LOL) because they did that. They never really mentioned that the technique used on at leat the kelly bag is one that takes some years to master and that initiates strat out with belts small leather goods etc to master it. Her stitching seemed to be done by a singer. =P

Wow. That was interesting. I do not want to show this video to my hubby since he'll probably ask me again "How much is it again to make one bag?" He's not a fan of buying expensive bags. He said buying one won't change you, only your bank account less that it should be. HE DOESN'T GET IT. PERIOD.

HER-Mez? I never knew Hermes was actually pronounced like that! Interesting!!

I'm absolutely shocked that the Kelly costs $35K! And a 3 year-long waitlist. But that lady did a pretty good job, though. I applaud her!

Why was this moved from the H forum? If this isn't H, then I don't know what is. (Seems like the title should have been $35,000 "Kelly" rather than "handbag" .....)

Interesting, but a little disturbing, too. However, I'm pretty impressed with her homemade one. This wouldn't be a project that I would dare to try on my own, since I could barely hemmed my pants correctly, so for sure, I wouldn't want to carry around a deformed looking Kelly.
