I have a metallic coated linen bag where the metallic coating is starting to wear off and you can see the dark linen peeking through underneath. Is there any way to prevent the metallic coating from rubbing off? I know with shoes that have glitter, people say you can use hairspray to "seal" the shoe. Would hairspray work, or can I use something like Scotchgard (or is that only for protecting the fabric from stains, etc.)?

I don't think Scotchguard works on anything coated. I would check out a fabric store or even an arts and crafts place like Michael's or Hobby Lobby and look I the section where they carry fabric paints and glues.

Hmm, I never thought to go to a craft store to ask. I will definitely do that!
