Any ideas on the department stores sale? I prefer to buy from them since their return policies are usually more buyer-friendly.

The Gucci sale usually is end of May, but you can go to their "pre-sale" where you can buy the item, but not bring it home until the official day of their sale starts. Their pre-sale is about 2 wks prior to the official sale. It's usually their "cruise collection" that goes on sale. You'll rarely see anything "classic" on sale, unless of course, they're phasing it out.

I talked to my SA at Gucci on Thursday and she said that the Spring/Summer sale will start the first week in June. (So..around June 1) The presale will be 1 week before the sale starts. The SAs only know what goes on sale a week before the actual sale starts.

It's all the luck of the draw. Last year I bought a red leather messenger bag for my friend at the Gucci outlet in Secaucus, which usually gets their inventory from the bags that aren't sold from the sales. There were quite a few at the outlet.
The sale is only a month away--I can't wait!
