Default pics of abbey hobo, shoulder bag in sand with pewter/gunmetal trim?

Hi everyone,
The outlet had the abbey with the two shoulder straps that is wide open ( think its called a hobo), available..I think they are sold out now but the SA told me they MIGHT be getting more..I was hedging as they sent me a pic but the lighting made it hard to tell what it really looked like.. it was a great price but was thinking I might use it towards another bag instead unless I love it.. anyway, does anyone have this bag and have pics of them with it or frankly even just pics alone? was thinking that it might be easier to tell the colors with different lighting?

I went to Nordstram in Topanga today ..I mentioned the bag and both SA's said they didnt like it .. one guy there said " the color combo just didn't "work" " ... I don't know I didn't think it looked bad but as I said it was hard to tell from the pics...

any thoughts ? also would you say the sand is more for summer ( one of SA mentioned that also or could this be worn year round..?

Thanks for the info!!

I don't have any pics, but I really like this color combo, my sister has an abbey in this. I actually like the sand color better than the regular beige, and it can totally be worn year round, not just for summer.
The SA's might have just been trying to make a sale, lol. :)

thanks..ya know in that pic it looks more shiney but the SA told me its more flat/matte actually... I am leaning towards trying it if they come back in because its still signature and classic but a little different than my belt bag or the chain hobo ( if I get that one )...

yeh I thought they might be swinging me towards a more expensive purchase in their store as opposed to at the outlet.. hope I get some more pics on this thread..

thanks again !!

I think it's a beautiful color combo. The slight metallic shiny look makes it more special in my eyes. Here is a pic with my abbey hobo on the right:

Is the bag that you are talking about the same style as the one in the link that luckyblonde posted? If so how much is that bag at the outlets? I tried to purchase one on gucci.com during the sale, but it sold out and they canceled my order.

Hi,
Smalls,it is pretty ..funny some pics look shiney ,some not.. and the SA said it was flat not shiney.. kicking myself now as I couldve grabbed it... well we'll see if they get anymore....

the style I was talking about is more of a hobo not a rectangle tote shape. It is more like a banana sort of .. and its wide open, no zipper..the bag I was talking about was 439$ . They also had the shoulder bag ( looks like a small tote )in the same color scheme for 369$ I think..they are sold out of that too..

There is one on eBay that looks great!

http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Authentic-Gu...QQcmdZViewItem

I personally have this exact bag and I love it! ( FYI it looks just like the one in the auction) I think the color is so unique and so pretty. I have several monogram bags but I'm so glad I added this one to my collection because Gucci comes out with so many monogram items in the usual brown, white, and black trim that eventually they all start to look a little similar. I have a pelham with white trim and a chain hobo with brown trim. But I find myself reaching for this more as an everyday bag because it seems a little more low maintence to me. So you can get this one to use more often, then save your nicer more expensive bags for special use. Just a thought.

Hi tx1980,
thanks for the link... yeh that one does look real.. I added it to my watched items...the more I see it the more I am kicking myself for not getting it ..the SA said they might get some more so I will keep checking in... and I'll watch the eBay one if you think its a safe one.. looks pretty good to me but I am so nervous after getting fooled with a belt bag recently.. I fought and did get my money back so I used it towards a real one at The Nordstroms in Topanga. They have a little Gucci boutique and I am sooo happy with the belt bag .. very useful and worth the money to know its real . Thanks so much for the info..

Sure no problem. Yeah some sellers can be kind of tricky. But there are a few who actually sell authentic items. I actually got my large monogram chain hobo from a nice seller. I took it to Gucci to have it authenticated once I got it, and it was real! It was practically brand new too! So just shop carefully. It looks to be authentic. I pulled mine out to compare and everything seems to match up exactly. I also bought mine at the outlet when they first got them and it came with the exact same things in the picture. They only bad thing about waiting for them to get them in the outlets is that if they do happen to get bags they usually get about 5-6 of them. But good luck on whatever you decide!

I also have this bag in this color combo and it! I was a little apprehensive with the gunmetal trim at first as I had only seen it in pictures as well. But when it arrived in person (ordered from the nordies in topanga), I fell in love with it immediately! It has become my "go to" bag--it goes with everything!

For more pictures, see the following thread!--hope you get it!

Girls!! I need help fast!! Abbey or Wave?

I have the one in the photo and it is really cute. I don't have many 'shoulder' type bags and my mom convinced me (like I needed any help) at the sale.

Yeh I think I am going to buy it.. keep going back and forth because it is wide open and I really like the medium mongram fabric chain hobo too.. wondering if it makes sense to get two fabric monogram bags.. was thinking I should get the chain hobo but this pewter one is a good deal.. I will most likely end up getting both but I am trying desperately to avoid that since they are similar.. bought the belt bag and now I am totally obsessing over getting more gucci bags just want to know that my choices are different enough ...like maybe I should get a black mongram and one brownor sand... akkkk have to make up my mind already
