Default Owners on Gucci Wellets HELP! Please [=

I went with my mom to niemans a around three months ago and bought some gucci things. I didn't use my purse and wallet until a few weeks later because it was suppose to be a birthday gift from my mom and boyfriend. (my birthday was in June, I was sneaky and got my way around to using it). I have been noticing that on the (continental) wallet the leather is starting to peel as if it were sun burnt skin. It is the one with brown trim. Has this ever happened to any of you? What can they do? Will they charge me to fix it?

My mom actually got the french wallet in black fabric at the same time and hers is perfectly fine after she used it. I also have a vintage Gucci wallet and it is still in good condition. I hope my wallet isn't a defective product. I actually don't have the reciept but I do have the tag and the box.

Any help will be great!

Edit: owners of gucci wallets... Sorry typo

Sounds like a defect, you should probably take it back to Neimans or Gucci and see what they will do about it (they have a 1 year warranty for their products, within that period they will repair defect free of charge). I had a problem with a wallet I bought 3 weeks ago, one of the card slots was sewn badly and I couldn't put a card in that slot, and they are reparing it for free.

Would a credit card statement suffice? If you did pay by CC that is.

I think you should try to return or exchange it for another one, my wallet with brown trim I've had for a few years and the trimming still looks good, no peeling at all.. so I would say that the one you bought is a defect.. IMHO

Take it back to Neiman's and see if they can look it up on the credit card you used- Sometimes Saks can do this so maybe Neimans can too. When I was at Neiman's last time I saw a women complaining about her Gucci wallet and bag she'd bought during that two buy two event at the end of march. I wonder if it was a fluke or if quality is going down? If they give you a hard time- if you paid by Amex you might have an additional warranty through them.

So, on saturday I went into Niemans and talked to a sa who normally doesn't help. The who normally helps me was off. This Sa was extremely rude and I haven't ever been treated like that when eber I go there. She basically accused me of purposly taking a nail file to my wallet. I was morified when she said that and I told her no I wouldn't do that. She said that she will show it to her department manager and see if they can actually repair the item. So I said that I would speak to a manager another day then. My mom actually knows the store manager but she was working that day. The sa thought I was talking about the department manager and I told her no the store manager. Then she gave me a look, I said have a nice day and walked away. Well my mom came in today talked to the manager and they are giving me another one if they can find mine. When I bought it they told me it was the last one, and they haven't had any new shipments in. Hopefully they will find me a new one!

I am so sorry you were treated like that! Hopefully, they will be able to replace it or at least get you a comparable one.

yes, this had happen to me before a few months ago. The trim on my wallet was peeling off and the SA was very nice and said that it was probably due to some defect when used, i had the wallet for less than 3 months and had always took care of it. I even lost the receipt and couldn't bring in the cc statement but she was very very nice and helpful and did it for me anyway even though i had no proof i bought it from the store. She did however said that she remembered that i bought it from her colleague so it was a happy ending and i couldn't be happier now that the wallet is up and running now.

Hope that you could be able to settle it asap! Good luck =)

Omigod I am so glad you are getting a new one! That is atrocious peeling, that shouldn't be happening to our gucci pieces!

I have a leather Gucci wallet and I've been using it every day for a while now and there's zero peeling of any kind.. so hopefully this is a one-off defect that won't happen again!
Best of luck with your next Gucci!
