Hi all! Got this bag at the DSW sale in Costa Mesa. I would totally appreciate it if you guys can let me know what is the name of the bag and what it retailed for in the boutique? Please ignore my little Stolichnaya keychain that I attached to the zipper.

Thank you very much,

v

Can help identify what my gucci bag called?

Its huge and practically can sling across the shoulder

Hi paper tiger,
You reckon, its pony hair for this bag? The hair is very smooth to touch.

I think this was bought around 1998.

Such an organised post^^^

Yup 'pony' or pony.

I just thought I would ask my Mum because she gave me a lizard 'kelly' and I noticed it has the same inside tag and she couldn't remember what year she bought it BUT she can remember every Gucci she's ever seen so I thought I could jog her memory (it goes way back to 1970s Gucci - she's like a walking archive if you press the right buttons). I'm with her in France right now.

OK so it's Tom Ford (he joined in 1994 as creative director (I hope, anyone pls correct if I'm wrong) but not one of Frida's (I think she joined from Fendi accessories 2002).

I need time for a conference. Be back soon.

This one is eel skin and I'm not sure of the date, maybe it's even a fake? Hope not!

Ladygogo. The first could poss 1960s or 1970s but I think more likely early 1970s. They didn't give spacial names to all their bags. The Britt asnd the Bouvier were more the exeptions rather than the rule. Really stunning piece (great that it still has its strap) you are very lucky.

The second I'm not so sure about so maybe someone else can help out. I know that seconds/imperfect models are often marked by cutting through or punching a hole in the label like this one. Hermes mark theirs S for sale. It's hard to tell whether the inside is leather from these pics. I would say if the linning is leather (I'm sure you can tell) and the outside is eel (not an easy material to worrk with) I would think that that is a lot of trouble to go to for a fake, I'm also sceptical that a fake manurfacturer would hole punch a tag to show it was slightly inperfect. The bag is '00s so not too old.

OK my Mother has a blank on this model (although she says it looks superb) If it has a name rather than just hobo or half moon etc I think its most likely to be named after the hard ware on the front/side when it's flat. Look out for similar hardware on future models (they will 'happen' I'm sure, all fashion houses recycle). I'm sorry to have raised your hopes up. If I find out anything else about this model I will let you know. This is truly a fantastic bag and I too would love to know it's heritage

I only have the name of the mini blondie, but I would still like to know the names of the other two larger Gucci bags. I just named my pictures with descriptions of how I identify them. I'd also like to know how old they are and prices...

Hi papertiger,
Thank you so much for your help.
You mother is really a walking encyclopedia, its okay this bag is not able to be identify. I guess this is really a vintage.
May I ask the tag which you have from your mom's gucci bag, is similar kind "printed" and not embossed?

Perhaps I will check with Gucci and find out if they know of this design.
Thanks again
*hugs*
