Hi I wanted to know what this bag was called,when it came out and if any of you think I would be able to find and buy it? Im looking for it in black.

Perhaps you could look for silver or gold markings. Gucci made a few rare pieces, including evening bags in sterling silver (9.25) and 18K plated. This would of course increase the value.

Otherwise the resale value is not great but perhaps more than most other vintage Gucci key-rings. New metal Key-rings are approc $100-150, so you might get that from a hard core Gucci collector. Most GG colectors prefer leather ware and silk scarves and the cut off date is about 1983 for high end vintage collectors pieces (earlty to late 1970s being the favourite)

A reputable consignment stores/sellers or an auction house would prob get you more $ than on-line auctions because they have regular customers.

Of course it might be nice to keep it in the family

That's true about some collectors but the '1980s GG canvas and web stripe are very popular with a younger set.

The bags became popular BECAUSE no one seemed to want them so they were cheaper on auction sites. Gradually, seeing other young women wearing these bags out and about they became a fashion statement which has now pushed the prices up.

Hi,

I've been lurking around in the Gucci forum for a while now so I know you guys are very knowledgeable when it comes to joy boston bags! I was at the grocery store when I spotted this beautiful joy boston... I would like to purchase the bag but I'm having a hard time finding it. Can anyone tell me the exact name of this bag and/or where I can find it? Attached is a pic of the bag.....

Any info would be greatly appreciated

This is the Biba bag. They don't make it anymore. You can probably find it on ebay.

This was bought in the 90s, the bag has shiny shiny short flat furs all around it.
To me it felt like horse furs. I'm not sure, I maybe wrong.
Can help identify what my gucci bag called?

Its huge and practically can sling across the shoulder

Could be vintage. Could you take a pic of any logos and inside of the bag? It would certainly help.

Lovely bag. I'm not sure of the model but I do know that NOW Gucci only use hair-calf and not pony perhaps because of ethical issues (if so good for them) it's not something that is practised by most high-end designers so watch out people if you want 'hair' but not real pony

Hey everyone, I'm trying to ID all the bags I own and sadly I only own one Gucci so I'm hoping so you guys could ID this bag for me! I got it in summer 2008 from an online auction (it was ridiculously cheap, I had to get it!) Anyway, the seller couldn't remember when she got it so I'm counting on you guys
