Default Most of my Guccis I purchased during the time Tom Ford designed for Gucci
I have seen some of the Guccis sold in department stores and wonder if anyone things the quality is not as good as it used to be.Any thoughts?

I'm not sure about how the quality changed but I definitely think that the styles were better during the Tom Ford era. Gucci should bring the blondie collection back along with dragon bags that Tom designed.

Frida was made Gucci's head accessory designer in 2002 and she is still is although she now designs the RTW in addition. So no change there.

As for the quality: I think it depends on the type of bag. I have bags from 2003 and my Secret flap from A/W 2009/10 is the best quality of bags I have bought personally.

I also have vintage Gucci including very high end and custom orders. These were pre-Tom Ford and perhaps the expectations/standards were higher. My mothers lizard Gucci 'Kelly' was handmade from start to finish - even my SA in Hermes admired it.

No they would probably screw it up, I think they shoudl bring tom ford himself back, the bags have gone downhill, designwise, quality is still good I would say, my patent hysteria is rediculously soft, I LOVE it
