Question Joy Shoulder Bag

I was going to buy the JOY shoulder bag with the gunmetal trim yesterday at Saks, but when I went to return the Joy boston bag I bought from the main store, the SA said they have been having problems with the shoulder bag because the metallic handles crack(they had the dark brown trim) and that's why they don't carry it anymore.

Is this true or was he miffed that I was going to Saks to get it? I mean, the money would still go to Gucci(right?)

This is one of the few styles I like in the fall collection - and the best thing is that the Guccissima versions are relatively inexpensive.

As for the metallic handles, I've heard people have been having problems with the metallic handles peeling on the Joy bostons.

I really like that bag - I saw the guccisima at NM in brown for $995.

I would be careful. I had to return two joy boston bags because of peeling problems on the handle. However, Gucci took both bags back without a problem.

This bag is beautiful - I tried it on last weekend. It sat perfectly on my shoulder. I was sooo tempted but bought my D Ring instead. I decided to save and buy this one in Autumn as I think it is Christmassy and my D R ing is summery :)

Cool, thanks for your review DesignerEmma! From the pics it does look very comfy and easy to carry. And pursefiend, it reminds me of an updated Jackie-O bag too!

This bag is gorgeous! It's such a classic and stylish design. I agree, it definitely reminds me of the Jackie-O-bag, which I love. Great... now I have yet another bag to add to my Wish List

On second thought, this new bag doesn't look like the Jackie O (one strap). It looks more like Gucci's classic Bardot bag (two straps.)

You're correct, Cosmopolitan. It does actually resemble the Bardot versus the Jackie-O style. I've got a floral Bardot bag and the Joy shoulder bag definitely resembles the shape of my bag. It's confusing because I've previously seen the Bardot style referred to as the Jackie-O as well. Good thing that you clarified this for me. You know, even after 4 years, I so regret not purchasing the darned Bardot with the piston lock closure in the beige/ebony GG fabric with the turquoise leather trim and handles. I had second thoughts on the bag because it had the rose colored hardware and I wasn't able to locate a pair of matching shoes for the bag. Sighhhh... I just should have purchased the bag anyways
