Gucci has collaborated with illustrator Michael Roberts (famous for "A Snowman in Paradise") to create its latest UNICEF collection. There will be a special edition of "A Snowman in Africa" available at Gucci boutiques, together with these supremely cute new limited edition boston bags.

ITA with you there. Also, I really like that most Gucci Bostons have the extra durability of the leather going around the whole body of the bag to support the handles.

I don't know - are they trying to do a SS LV thing here?

Both are so 'sweet' in their respective designs, they make my teeth hurt

i'd love the snowman boston, if it weren't for the snake wrapped around it - creeps me out. it's kinda hard to tell, but does the bag with the elephants have the GG print in the background?

They're based on a children's novel so I guess that's where the Saccharine Factor comes in. I have no doubt Jinjy would love these to bits.

That snowman/snake bag is interesting and ITA it's a little creepy too! The other one is a cute print -- that will probably hit the outlets though.

It does very faintly.

You all have hit the nail on the head. I'd 'do' a beautiful snake OR a snowman but I don't want to carry around a 'murder scene' that also quite child like.

There is really something up with that.

Was it Giles or Henry Holland who did a cut throat Bambi print a few seasons ago? Blood from its poor little neck - sorry yuck

(Not the Westwood bambi)

I got a skull X bone with 'Mickey' ears tee shirt so I'm not against 'subvertion of the image' or a bit of postmodernism but I don't think the snowman print is even supposed to be ironic...and since I don't know the story I think I'lll stick to Totenkopf Mickey.

Hmmm...not my style. But if the elephant design was available in a mini-boston, my DD would be all over it. She loves animals.

I don't like the snowman with the snake around it. That disturbs me for some reason.

But I do like the other one, it reminds me of a Keith Haring print.

The snake with the snowman boston would be a huge hit with the little kids I teach! They would love it! I do love the snowman bag - the elephant one doesn't do anything for me...it's strange but not funky enough to be interesting. You can even carry the snowman boston bag out during the summer and be ironic. It'll stop people in their tracks for sure!

Though I wished Gucci teamed up with another children's illustrator/author instead of Michael Roberts. An Eric Carle print would be amazing...or Kevin Henke - which I'm sure a lot of people know that he wrote the famous children's book Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse (Gucci could even release a limited edition unicef purple patent bag!!! lol)
