Default Gucci Positano

I am considering buying this for a while now but there is so many fakes on eBay i'm not sure whats not. I really don't want to spend too much and i realy don't mind used. So if anybody has any tips on finding real ones let me know. I want the brown one big enough to carry my books.

I totally agree that there are so many Gucci fakes and I think it's hard to tell the real from fake. If you are considering a Gucci bag, you can post the auction in the AUTHENTICATE THIS thread and someone hopefully can assist you. Everyone tries to be very helpful there.

If you are more flexible with what type of bag you want, you can consider going to the outlets or doing a phone order with them. Or you can wait for the sales that happen around May/June and Nov/December. They are usually in the stores and the boutiques. I usually hold out for those sales. Not all the bags go on sale but sometimes there's a great selection.

Even used, an authentic Positano will cost around $700. I agree w/ Mssmelanie that you should check out the outlet or wait for the May/June sales.

I don't know if this allowed, but I'm going to post some pics of an authentic POsitano here in this thread, to help guide you differentiating a fake from a real one.

Here's a pic of the scarf. The fake ones are usually machine-sewn. The authentic ones look hand-sewn to me...check out the slightly uneven stitching:

A closer look at the Gucci tag and lining:

How the leather should look( I have seen the fakes..the leather on the fake ones are smoother and dont look like leather at all):

Pic of the bag:

PLease let me know if this is not allowed so I can delete the pics. Hope this can guide you in choosing an authentic bag
