Default Gucci Abbey Tote?
I only have one Gucci bag so far and I have a chance to obtain the Abbey Tote and it's the d-ring version I think. Anyway I was just wondering if there are any pros or cons to this bag, is this a good bag to get? Any feedback is appreciated :-)

I have a love for the Abbey Tote because it was my first Gucci bag. Mine is in the sand gg fabric with gunmetal trim. It's a great tote - holds lots of stuff. The handles are shorter but I can still wear this bag on my shoulder which is a plus. No zipper, so for some that is a con. It does have a single magnetic snap closure. Doesn't stand on its own but I use a purse to go organizer in it so it keeps its shape.

My Abbey tote is the 3rd bag from bottom right in my siggy.

This is my first gucci bag too. I have it in fabric and brown trim (although guccissima would be better). No zipper but wears nicely and comfortably on the shoulder. Can fit documents and my netbook...I like to use it for work. Great for casual use too.

I love it! It's a classic, and would recommend getting it. Like bagfever said, downfall is no zipper. So if you are the type of person that has to have a zipper on your hadnbag, this is a no go. LOL. G/L!

I also have the Gucci Abbey but in the bronze foiled leather. It always falls off my shoulder when I am carrying it! I still love it though. I would have preferred a tote with a zipper..but, they Abbey is just fine.

I must say though, my friend has the regular Abbey. She has had hers for about two years and the sides at the leather seam have started to fray! She has a Gucci wallet too and the same is happening.

My other friend also bought a Gucci tote years ago (forget the model name) and in the FIRST year, she had to return the purse and exchange it for a new one because it started fraying at the seams too! She refuses to buy any other Gucci purse now because she is convinced they are not they greatest quality.

I have two gucci purses - one that only comes out on special occasions. Neither one of my purses have started fraying.

Anyone else have this problem? Are my friends crazy?

Flipchickmc - where do you buy these purse organizers? How nicely do they fit inside the purse? I hate when my cell phone rings and I can't find it in my purse, haha! Or, I can't find my keys for the life of me!
