D Gold Question!

I bought this bag online the other day and as much as I love the shape, I am not too crazy about the color. Does anyone know whether this bag comes in the brown trim? And what do you think of the large shoulder bag (link #2)? I might exchange it for that instead if the tote does not come in the brown trim, but I can't decide! I saw it in person at the store and it seems a little big, but I am hoping that it will weigh down a little when it's filled. Plus, I prefer some kind of closure. Any comments? Which would you get? Does the shoulder bag seem to trendy?

I believe the tote comes in brown trim. Someone on this forum has it in the brown trim and has posted pictures of it but I can't remember who it is and search function is not working.

not sure about the brown trim, but definitely don't think either bag is too trendy. while they're clearly not out of style by any means, IMO the d-ring bags are definitely not a "trend" right now. hope i'm making sense!!!

Really? I called the store about the tote and no one seems to know whether the tote in brown exists. One sales associate told me it did, but when I called today, i was told it only comes in the gold! I have yet to see it in the stores, but I vaguely remember seeing someone on this forum with a white trim tote. Thanks for your help!

I agree, but I guess what I meant is- will I be able to use this bag years from now say like a LV speedy bag?

Haha I already know I'm not going to be of much help since I love BOTH of the bags!
Both are gorgeous and I think they aren't crazy shapes or particularly crazy colors (like neon orange or something too too colorful) so they won't really go out of style..

If you're particularly wanting a browm leather trim on a classic gg fabric, just think about it this way : it's a classic and that color combo will come on so many other purses to come in future seasons in diff shapes, but the GOLD tote *might* be this season only?

I've been wanting a really classic abbey tote/shoulder bag as a book bag and was wondering if I should I get it in a classic color combo like the gg fabric+brown leather, or all black.. OOOORR should I go CRAZAY and buy the lovely bronzey gold lame one that's out for fall??? haha

personally i like the gg fabric with the brown trim for the abbey tote, but i think it's also because i like very simple styles in general. that's why even though i do find the gold trimming very pretty, i can't bring myself to keep the bag b/c i feel like it might be too flashy for my style!

I fell in love with the D gold in the hobo but I recently saw a girl wearing the gold tote and it was really cute. So both are very good choices. But IMO if you want something you can wear years and years I say go with something in leather(not patent). Those are always a classic. I don't know if the tote comes in leather?

is that the bigger version? i went to the store today, but the sa told me they don't make the smaller version with the brown trim... though i am a bit skeptical. i ended up getting the shoulder bag instead, but i still am so in love with the tote version of the bag!!
