Hi ,went to nordstrams in topanga today and got to see a few Guccis in person. I tried on the medium chain hobo and found the shoulder to be really uncomfortable till the bag was moved back ( the sales person said that is the way it is meant to be worn anyway)) where the horsebit moves forward and the bag goes under the arm etc . I was wondering if the bag and the leather strap soften up a lot as it was stiff looking and feeling ..also with the bag pushed back like that it seemed like all the stuff in it would slide forward to the corner LOL..? hope this isnt a dumb question..does anyone find that their stuff all rolls to the edge?

also tried on the abbey hobo.. more comfy but all open ,would really like a zipper... tried the d ring but even the sales people said it seemed to big and puffy for me ,being petite and the smallest version was not knocking me out :( and the new pelham ,that is a great bag! so cute on but pricey ...gotta save for that one!

I did this today too!!!! LOL!!!

I was SO SO disappointed with the bag - I went back to Gucci twice and it was equally as bad BOTH times. The bag was way too stiff, and the handle was too.. there is no way it could soften that much, and since I'm tiny the bag looked very wide on me.

Yeh I am torn...I did like how classic and simple it is..doesnt seem to trendy ,like it would go out of style but I wasnt sure if I liked the way it looked when you push it back the way it is supposed to be worn....really like the d gold but it was too big and the shape didnt seem right for me...the abbey hobo was very comfy but that open issue for me with kids is kind of a deal breaker.. just concerned I'd have to be careful that stuff doesnt fall out when its in the stroller etc... really liked that pelham with the studs and it looked cute on ,it was large but somehow the shape didnt seem to dwarf me ...but it was a little more than I was planning to spend... ended up getting the blet bag since it seems useful ..might return it and add to get a bag but wanted to think about it and get some more advice first

I'm petite also, only about 5'1", 105 lbs and I have the medium chain hobo and LOVE IT! It definitely is a classic, and I personally don't think its uncomfortable at all and I think the size is great for me, fits a lot but doesn't overwhelm me. I've only had mine for a few months so I can't really say how much it softens, but then again I don't find it uncomfortable. As for how I wear it, I don't have to wear it pushed back, I just wear it like you would wear any other shoulder bag. I also have the abbey which I love equally with the hobo, and it being open hasn't been an issue for me either.

the leather on the chain hobo doesnt losen up --- it actually FORMS to your shoulder with wear... it is seriously awesome! after a few times it feels like it was MADE for you, so comfy and chic! :)

if you want to speed up the process just fill the bag with water bottles and hang it from a door knob overnight :)

i seriously hope you get it because it is the hottest bag imho ! :)

Yeah that is true a lot of bags seem uncomfortable at first and then after using it a few days all of a sudden POOF it is great! That is probably what will happen with the chain hobo. As luved said ^ I do the same thing when I first get a new bag, I put something with decent weight to it in it and hang it on a clothestree in my room over night for a while so it gets a bit broken in. It works!

Ok guys.. went to Nordstrams last night and HAD to buy something ...finally LOL... I was so torn and I am still am frankly but I did take the plunge into Gucci and buy.... a belt bag... !!!! I got the standard brown leather signature one as I felt it was classic and would go with everything..very useful for me as a mom of two little ones ..already used it today to go to a little bday party for one of my daughters preschool friends...it was soooo great to be hands free but have the essentials... I really see that I will get a lot of practical use out of it .. and I am happy but I hate to say it I am not as excited as I thought I would be because I would really like a great handbag... once I deciede ,with your help of course..I am DEFINETELY getting a nice "me" bag... I figured with the belt bag I can still afford to get a nice bag but have to stay in a certain price range ... seriously thinking the chain hobo of course and you ladies seem to think it would work ... gonna take another trip to Nordys or try going into a gucci store to look around again this week... was going to purchase one yesterday when I got the belt bag but I was just too undecieded know what I mean? Since the belt bag was a great practical choice now I want one nice bag that is a little more fashionable and I feel kind of fabulous in ...I'll let you girls know.. love and appreciate the feedback ... thanks so much The girls in teh store were good though, very helpful and were steering me away from more practical ,less fun bags that might have been in my price range but were not spectacular... really liked that studded new pelham..I found out the outlet has an abbey hobo but I hate the open thing and I don't know whether to grab it since it is cheaper.. but I think everyone might agree that grabbing somethign because it is cheap is not as good as spending a little more and getting a bag I am in love with ...of course now I see that guccis are addictive so I can understand why some ladies grab what the outlet has once you have several
