Hi
I'm new here at TPF.
I've been wanting a Gucci bag for a while and I'm so happy to have found this site.
I'm Canadian and I don't make it into the USA often - especially not anywhere close to where the Gucci outlets are!
I understand that to ship a purse to Canada would be $40.
Does anyone know what the other charges would be for tax and duty?
Would there be any other charges once the bag arrives?
Does it matter where in the USA the bag is coming from - Woodbury, San Marcos or other outlets?

Hi there....welcome to TPF!

When they ship chances are they will use UPS or Fedex. They will put the full value on the customs forms, based on which you will be charged customs and taxes. Customs is 10% of the value in cdn $ and taxes will depend on which province you are from.

Sorry to bring up this old thread.....but since the presale is about to start

, I wanted to clarify something about shipping the purse to Canada.

Let's say a purse costs $300 and during the presale it's 50% off at $150.

Will the cost of the purse be as follows:

$150 + $40 (shipping) + $15 (10% customs) + $19.50 (13% tax) = $224.50
(give or take a couple of dollars)????

IMO, it's really not that much cheaper buying from the outlet and then having the items shipped as the duties and taxes compensate for the discounts you get.

Do you mean in comparison to buying it here, from Holt's or from the Gucci store?

FYI - I think when it's shipped UPS they charge a brokerage fee if the item is over $100. That's what happened to me so when I buy from *bay, I always ask for it to be shipped with USPS instead. I think the brokerage fee was atleast over $70
