Default buy at outlet...?

Hi everyone,
I have been calling the outlets after reading on this forum suggesting that before going retail.. thanks so much ..this board rocks!!

Anyway, the outlet currently has a few styles that are the momgram fabric ,they rarely get those and the prices are good compared to retail of course..

Question is if I am not in love with the choices ,only like , or frankly not sure since I only have a belt bag right ( just got this past weekend)) now..should I buy something because its a good deal and its nice or hold out for love even though its a bunch more?

There is an abbey shoulder bag that is cute but the trim is pewter/gunmetal metallic..havent seen that in person.. and its an open bag..no zipper.. I like the shape otherwise though...

any thoughts..zipper bag, open bag, the trim color, anyone have a bag with it now?

Not sure what to do..obviously the current gucci stuff will be avail for a while.the outlet stuff will fly out the door ..also wodnering if anythign good will go on sale in December? I have heard they ahve sales in June and December right?

Thanks!!

Not sure if my answer will help you because I myself am Gucci Obsessed, once I get one purse I'm already obsessing about another before I've even fully broken in the one I got. But as to what I was saying, I'm all about a good deal especially with the abbey because I have that bag and LOVE IT, it fits sooo much stuff and I've used it as a diaper bag, my baby is a toddler now but I still seem to cram just as much as stuff into it. I have it in monogram with brown trim... but the gunmetal is pretty too and a good deal since its not retail. But I think I've read in another thread you were eyeing the pelham too which is more expensive sooo if you really, really want that one I would save up and get that one, its always more fun and rewarding when you get the one that you absolutely have been obsessing over. So ideally I would say get the abbey and then save up for the pelham, two great bags and it makes me giddy when I get two bags that I love... but realistically if you don't want too spend too much I would save for the one that you really, really <3.

Hi MamaGG,
Thanks for the response... does it bother you that hte bag is open..I have always had bags that zipper or snap so nothign can fall out... is it pretty deep so this is not a problem? I could just get it and I am sure it would be nice ..I think it would come out to around 500$ or so... the other more than twice that :) ... maybe I should make a trip to peek at the same style again and then cross my fingers that the outlet still has it tonight or tomorrow...? they also have one that is a tote looking one that zippers but it just so conservative and boring for me... its a nice bag but I want somethign with an interesting shape and the abbey hobo is cute... ok gotta take another trip to a gucci store to peek around... thanks so much for the response though !! I do appreciate it ...

The only time I seem to have a problem with things falling out is when I'm driving and I brake too hard and things go flying out, but I seem to have this issue with zippers also because I hardly ever zip my purse closed... so its not too much of a big deal for me. The abbey does have a leather snap across the top but it still is fairly wide open. And it is deep, but I can find things fairly quickly and I love that I can fit so much in it and the shape of it just makes it such a cute purse. Hope that helps.

haha thats the only time I had trouble also. I love the open top design anyway. Its much easier to access your items when in line to pay. I always keep my zip tops open for this reason. I think it would be a great bag. I started keeping my items in this style purse in little cosmetic bags and wallets so if I brake hard then all I have to pick up are the cosmetic bags.

Yeah at first I was completely against bags without zippers and then I took a chance on my first Gucci Britt Shoulder bag (what some people refer to as the hobo?) and it is by far my favorite bag. Love it. Didn't have any problems with anything ever falling out yet, either.

Honestly, I think my advice might be to wait until December. Their twice yearly sale is phenomenal. REALLY great. I would just start saving now, so you can get twice as much great stuff when the sale happens again.

Thanks Guccime,
Wish I could make up my damn mind ..really tempted to do that one at the outlet because the price is good.. I don't know if I can wait till December !!..I was thinking I would be getting something else then too.. I bought one bag and now its an obsession..guess I'm in good company here!..I think this would be more clear cut if I had other bags ,,then when stuff comes thru the outlet its more to add to the collection or try a different style.. thing is there are no returns and it would be buying something I have never seen.. the trim etc..

I WILL make up my mind ..eventually

Yes, the sales are on seasonal item/colors and discontinued styles. Anything left over from the sales, go to the outlets after.

I wouldn't say unusual items, they had some things on in June that I didn't expect to see there the way people were talking. They had black leather Britt bags, etc, really classic looking things. Tons of stuff, and a lot of variety, I thought, as far as the styles of the bags go.

Devonmusic: In regards to the sale, a lot of the times I didn't like what was on sale either because classics usually do not go on sale, however this past sale they had in June was awesome, the wave hobo was on sale and the horsebit in leather was on sale too (both classics)... I was pretty surprised to see those on sale, needless to say I got both...so it definitely is worth checking out because you just never know what might be on sale.
