buy at outlet...? - Page 2

Heyyyy OP! I actually had the same exact dilemma as you. Should I buy outlet or save and buy something I really love. The funniest thing? I went to Woodbury on Sat and ended up getting the Abbey in gunmetal trim. I was thinking about the tote in the same trim but I felt it was too small. I am 100% happy with my purchase and eventhough it wasn't the bag I have been dreaming of night and day it is what I need as far as color/size/style. Goodluck!!

wow,I wonder if woodbury still has any?
I have been calling Cabazon ,the SA I have been in touch with said they should be getting some but they dont know when.. then over the weekend I called and got someone else who said they ahd them but the SA I originally spoke with,that promised to call me ,was out sick .. kind of confused.. hope he is right.. hope I haven't missed my chance to get it

vanilla sky,did you see a bunch there? should I call on Monday?

I think I got the last one because the SA Mary Anne actually asked me to let her hold it behind the counter because it was "causing quite a stir". I was holding it while still shopping and I guess a few people wanted it. A lady actually picked it up when I was 1st going for it then she ended up putting it back and ofcourse I was watching her like a hawk and swooped down and took it before it hit the shelf

. Still call though it never hurts!

No, I was trying too ,calling all the time.. they did at one point get the small little purse that goes on your waist but it was so small it hardly seemed worth it..I really wanted the 2 pocket belt bag. I finally went into Nordstroms in Topanga and bought the brown GG fabric one retail.. I love it ,I find it very useful . I was told by a SA at the outlet that they have in the past, recieved a few but it is mostly a red or pink or navy one..never the brown ...plus it is so rare to get them period ..I guess because they are a so popular and pretty much a staple since it appeared on Sex and the City years ago...
There is a small chance you might find one of the colored ones, but if you really want it I would say go get it ,,I don't regret my purchase ,it has great to be hands free with the kids ,at the park etc ..
of course now it has ignited a Gucci obsession .....

i to am GUCCI obsessed. i find myself shopping there at least once a week. its gotten so bad that when i go into the store, my SA is like, "OMG! what are you doing here? there's nothing here you dont already have."

but there is TONS of great finds at the outlet. even my dogs have GUCCI. so i say if you see it buy, it. that way you wont have any regrets. but hey what do i know, i recently found a bag and earrings in my walk-in that i literally cried to get (last summer).

I wish the Cabazon outlet was closer.. I am in Burbank so its ,I think at least an hour and half each way ?.. with two little ones I am afraid its a disaster to try to make that trip with them to go to a Gucci store

Disney is one thing since its only an hour and at the end of the ride the kids are entertained there...I have just been calling and getting some pics to see if anything looks good.. at some point I have to take a trip out there to see the stuff in person..its frustrating knowing there are great finds if you go in person!

Hey ladies! I wanted to let you know that I did find an Abbey in gunmetal/sand combo..it just arrived yesterday.. I am so glad I got it ..I haven't tried her out yet but she is soooo pretty ..you guys were right..I am actually kind of surprised at how much I really do like the color combo.The SA at Nordstrom said he thought " the bag just didn't work" ...whatever he meant by that, I am not sure but I think it DOES "work" !!

And not paying retail since it was an outlet bag feels sooooooo good ,doesn't it ???

Ok so thankyou all for the comments /suggestions etc.. I really am happy cant wait to try her out.. of course now she is so pretty and light that I am afraid to use her

.. I am rationalizing my worry away by saying to myself, "you didn't pay retail so enjoy it " ... I am so pleased thankyou everyone!..

hi,
it is the Abbey shoulder bag /hobo with the open top ,no zipper... the outlets were selling it for 439$ plus tax...if you cannot go in person ,any outlet can ship to you for $10...
