Jewelry Lovers chit chat thread

So ex-DH and I went to a fundraiser last night. They had a terrific comic who really played off the audience. Of course the subject of women's shoes came up. Ex-DH has to get into the act and mentions BAGS...my BAGS in particular. Details about finding a HG bag...stores, Ebay and of course tPF!!! By the look on everyone's faces, not many had heard of tPF or the hunt for the perfect bag!
With all my yipping and yapping about this/that bag, never really thought ex-DH was listening...boy was I wrong! :wtf:
Gotta say...it was funny!

Oh boy. That's funny. Never think they're listening! I'm sure you were a good sport about that. I would have wanted to sink under the table

Just caught up with the last few days' posts.

I'm in San Fran for the weekend. First time!

Have fun in SFO, Pretty...fun city and great food! How's the weather? SFO has had some weird weather lately. I'm off to LAX later today and they had tornados!

It was all in good fun...you have to have a sense of humor, especially concerning your bags! Everyone was fairly old, too. Let's face it...Cape Cod is NOT the Haute Couture capital of the world. LOL!

Save "those" rings for the adorables...they'll be wearing them before you know it!
^I'm hoping I'll be able to start giving them something soon.

The STL people will know the landmarks...

I was driving to pick up cupcakes at Jillys for my friend's baby shower, and as I am driving up 270, every overpass from 55 to 40 (didnt go beyond 40 til 170) had firetrucks, police cars and ambulii with lights and sirens on, and huge American flags hanging from their ladder lifts. I kept saying to myself WTF is going on??? The president would not be on 270 if he was in town, besides it being totally closed when he's here anyway... But as I progressed up towards Big Bend and Dougherty Ferry, all along the sides of south bound, on the side of the highway and offramps and some along on ramps on north bound, people of all ages and a lot of older men in uniform, saluting in the pouring down rain for the military funeral procession led by 5 hwy patrol cars in a staggered formation, then a million motorcycles all with flags on them, then the hearse, and there were two semis in the far left and two in the far left lanes south bound with flags on the sides of the trailers back by the hearse.

I actually cried the ugly sobbing cry in my car as I passed it. I think everyone on 40 probably thought I was a crazy sobbing person...but wow. I wish I had taken pics or video. My mother in law had told us about it a few months ago when she was in town, and I have never seen it before but I know it's "commonish" here, as we have J.B. national cemetery and any time word gets around about a fallen soldier, the motorcycle community makes it happen as does the law enforcement sector.

I love it. I wish EVERY returning soldier got it, even if they were alive, they wouldn't obviously be in a hearse. It actually pisses me off that they don't in fact.

Either way...I am STILL getting verklempt and that was at like 1130am.

I'm not an American but I've lived here for many years now. Whatever my thoughts about war and foreign policy, it doesn't matter when it comes to a loss of life. These soldiers deserve a grand and respectful send off.

I can imaging it was very emotional to see that first hand.

it's wonderful to hear about such a show of support for our troops.

I've heard many times of big huge events being made of soldiers coming home...alive.

I love hearing these stories about the troops coming home to big welcomes!

PrettySquare - I hope you enjoy your stay here! Let me know if you want any good recs for restaurants or fun don't miss spots!

Ame - I LOVE MUJI! Anytime I'm in New York or Japan or Hong Kong, it's a must go! Love their sheets and little cosmetic cases for those little nick nacks a girl needs to carry. I use them a lot when I"m traveling and need to stay under that 3 oz limit. And their clothes are really soft and great for basics! darn! now you make me want to go to one...

Thanks whoops. It's been pretty hectic. I went to Rogue bar last night and liked the vibe of north breach. And I totally spotted one of my fav bloggers at the next table.

Have you been to uniqlo? That's my other go to japanese clothing basics place.
