Hi All! Been lusting for a nightingale for quite sometime now, and on a recent trip abroad, i finally got one! (yay!) It's an orange medium calf nightingale, and i really loved how the color pops out. The problem is, when i carry it on my shoulder, it gets too slouchy and the whole thing just kind of droops down looking sort of like a piece of crumpled paper. It's so depressing since i've waited this long to get one only to be disappointed. Nightingale owners, is this a normal occurence? I'm torn... And lately i've been thinking about selling it. Should i? Need your opinions please. Thanks so much!

Okay, being serious, if there is an aspect about the bag that bothers you, you can get rid of it. I will say, I despised my 1st 'gale (but for other reasons) and didn't fall madly in love with my second, but kept it and it is now a staple in my collection. So, for some, a piece may just grow on you.

If you are not that kind of person (willing to wait a bit to see if a bag 'grows' on you) then please return it and apply your funds to something else. Say, the Antigona, for instance. Its a structured bag that seems to hold its shape (Ciara literally carried hers every single day for months and the bag didn't budge).

Sorry your nightingale is not doing it for you. I suggest keeping it (because its such a beautiful bag and Givenchy colors are superb). But, you have to live with it and if it doesn't sing to you honey, then you know what to do.

i've just done a random google search on the givenchy nightingale bag and everyone seems to carry it on their elbow or hand rather than wear it on their shoulder. it is a stunning piece and i think if you wear it in which ever way it still looks amazing!

I know what you mean. Maybe those chameleon handbag organizers can give some sort of structure? Out of all the Givenchys the Antigona is the most structured. Maybe wait for the new Lucrezia to come out later this year? That bag looks like it won't droop. Personally I like the slouchiness of the Pandora and the Nightingale.

I agree with Aluxe's advice 100%. I almost always carrying mine over the shoulder...NYC ppl need their hands! I really dont pay attn to how it puddles or looks b/c to me, the practicality of being to carry it 3 diff ways trumps over anything else.

Also, having a full bag vs half full always makes a diff in how the bag looks when carried. Lastly, it sounds like you're more used to having a bag w/ a bit more structure.

I always carry mine on my shoulder and I love how it slouches. It's look so casual yet chic! However if it's not the style you like, sell it. But maybe should try it for few more days before making your decision :)

D2K, I did the search too! And yes, 99% of the time, everyone just wear it on their elbow or carry it in their hand. Did just that and the nightingale looked fine (no slouch at all!)
