I've got a Givenchy lanyard a few months back, and it's actually too long for my liking. The strap's too thick to be tied into a knot, so I'm wondering if anyone has solutions to this? I guess the length is more suitable for a guy. I'm a bit reluctant to tack it with needle and thread, so hopefully someone can suggest a better way to secure the shortened lanyard! TIA!

i'd believe most boutiques have it? got it at the local givenchy boutique, i understand it isn't seasonal but the colors can vary

I'm not familiar with this lanyard but is there anyway you can convert it to a lariat? Like insert a large enough bead over one loop end (loop opposite clasp/knot) and wear that part at the back of your neck?

this is how the lanyard looks like, and as you can see it is quite long! I've never thought of using a large bead, perhaps I can pop by the hardware store and see if I can find anything. It's alright when I'm standing, but extremely uncomfortable if I am seated down as it's almost to my waist :(

oh I see, the lanyard is quite wide.... I think any leathersmith or cobbler can crease/fold a portion of the leather at the back part and install a button snap for you to lengthen and shorten as you please... I do not think the bead will work, it is just much too thick.

Yup it's pretty thick and rigid, hence hard to knot at the top! Thanks for your suggestion, I'll go by the hardware store to see if there's any goodies that can be added on!

Good luck! I know it's against some fashion rules to modify an original, but what is the use if you cannot wear it comfortably? I love that you are finding a way around it.

My own problem is that most of the necklaces I like are too short for my Jabba-the-Hut neck so I have to look for extenders to match the original chain, etc.
