I'm thinking about buying a Givenchy Nightingale, but I was wondering if they are cheaper in France than in the rest of Europe? Since it's a French designer, or doesn't that make any difference? The one I have my eye on, is the medium in black and cost €1249. And I may go to Paris for a weekend, later this year, I was wondering if I should buy it there for less than when I'll buy it in Amsterdam. Anyone who can help me? :)

I am in Paris just across the street, if you give me the exact infos of the Nightingale you want I can come there and ask about it just tell me, I think about going to try a Pandora !

I got to go there to check on the pandora too, I found a second-hand one for 950€ and I'm not sure that's a good price (the seller is ready to go lower) si I need to double check before buying maybe

the 2nd hand panda you are referring to, if you get it 800 eur or lower, and if it's in very good to excellent condition, is a decent deal.

So, just got back to the Givenchy store avenue George V and mixed feelings about all this...

The store was DESERT, nobody in there at 4pm. I waited a bit and had a look at the antigonas, especially one all in snake skin that was just Then I tried to look inside as to get the prices, it was nowhere to be found, so I opened it again and again... finally one girl came to all like all panicked "-what do you want??!!" I did not like this particular kind of greeting...
I asked to try on the pandora in large (the first reason for me to come there) I tried on a classic black one that was good looking. The girl was, as we have a expression in french, as talkative as a prison's door, that is to say I had the impression I was bothering her by being here and asking questions. She finally told me it was 1300 euros (for large pandora). Then I wanted to know the prices of the other bags, she told me the "regular" antigona" is 1400€ and then "...if you want a price for you or your friend, you have to know first the one you want to buy, and then you will know the price" I think that was rude. So, I left.
I am not a usually Givenchy customer, I love their collection there was beautiful cuffs and clothes but I was disapointed basically.

She told me the colors for fall will be only grey, black and ivory, no red and that there would be only the details (zippers etc.) in silver. I showed her a medium pandora that was here with golden details and she was like "ok... I guess only on the large one" so I do not know if she actually knew what she was talking about... maybe she was just an intern?!
I think the prices are a bit lower in France, all the more so as as foreigners outside the European Union I think you (lucky you!) can have a tax refund on the VAT ...


As far as I am concerned I was happy to try on the pandora, as I am kinda tall this size fits me well and with all its pockets it looks like a perfect daily bag ! The one I can buy second hand is red with gold details and "washed" leather... her last price for moment is 850€ (1,043.60$) with its dustbag and it looks at first sight in good condition.
I am trying to low at 800€ cause I am a bit short on money for the moment... what do you all think?

Ah she sounds like a horrible sales person. I've seen employees like that at the high end stores and it just pisses me off. That does not make me want to spend money. On vacation in NY, I was in the Chanel store with my mom and 2 other family members. My mom was looking at the sunglasses and tried to get an employees attention and the employee basically acted super annoyed once my mom passed 2 questions. My boyfriend found another sales person who was awesome and answered all our questions and my mom spent $700 with her on a pair :). (Although I know $700 doesn't compare to a $5,000 bag)
Sorry for the long story, I just don't see how being rude in a sales environment can be beneficial at all.

Anyway, thanks for trying to check it out! The second hand red one sounds great and it's not a bad price. You should post pictures.

So sorry to hear about that horrible sales assistent! I wouldn't want to spend my money there! It takes out all the fun, in my opinion.
I'm still not sure which bag I want. Plus I don't really know about the different kind of leather they have on a Nightingale. As long as it's not too shiny/plastic. But I saw an amazing black kind of snake skin Nightingale, and it was 'only €1350. So may be that one, or just a normal black will be the next one.
