Default Black Friday. Where are the deals?
I know its early but I am a student and I need to start saving from now. However, in the past I have not really seen any good sales going on at the department stores. Last year, it took me an hour to get in to Saks here in Nyc and then once I got in, I couldnt even move most of the time and from what I did see, I wasnt really impressed. I have tried Bloomingdales here too and wasnt really impressed. Am I just missing the deals? What department stores are good to try for black friday? online or not?

I used to work at the mall and I dreaded Black Friday. Honestly, all the good deals can be found online in the comfort of your own home as early as Thanksgiving Day. Last year I did most of my shopping online and it's so much easier to browse the deals on the computer.

I know Saks is having their F&F right now. Macy's always has F&F before Christmas. Gucci has an annual sale around Thanksgiving. And that's all I can think of right now.

Ugh, I'm on a budget but you couldn't pay me to shop on Black Friday. That's when all the crazies are out!

as long as your not at certain stores like best buy or walmart when they first open, black friday isnt really that bad. stores make more money on a weekday in the week or two before xmas than black friday.

I hate to go shopping on Black Friday. Last year I took my family from Europe to Woodbury Commons Outlet Mall...never again. It got way to crowded, there were lines in front of some of the stores. Still managed to pick up some great stuff though

I don't know WHEN Macy's F&F will be but it is usually 20-25% your entire purchase and the ONLY exclusion is everday values (.98 endings). It works on everything else.

theblackfriday.com publishes the ads. there are a bunch of websites. a friend in retail told me the big item this year will be a 42" LCD HDTV for $399! Best Buy, Kmart, and Target will all sell one. So, when the ads come out, I guess we will see!

I saw a lady get a TV one year at Walmart on Black Friday and she turned her back for a moment and another lady grabbed her shopping cart with the TV in it and headed to the checkout as fast as she could! The first lady chased her and was yelling for security, she got her TV back but it wasn't easy. Witnesses were helping her. This was in Arizona. Crazy!

My sentiments exactly. The same goes for the day after Christmas.
