Aww poor Grace!! My professors didn't give me that much so far. I just have alot of reading to do...since I'll have the same class every other day (ex. Microeconomics Tues/Thurs, Ethics Mon/Wed/Fri, etc.) it's hard to keep up with all the reading especially at the beginning of the year AND I'm working on campus...it's gonna be a long year!!

And tomorrow I have a Math class from 7p-945p. I might die.

ahh, what sadists! darn teachers, lol. hopefully soon you'll figure out which classwork will take the longest, be the most important or difficult, etc. and tricks to doing it in hs, there was homework for some classes that i ALWAYS did the class before, or in between classes, really the easiest stuff that i wouldn't have to bother with at home. and you'll learn which classes you can get away with sleeping in, lol. boy was i a HUGE sleeper in high school. i racked up at least two hours of sleep a day, just in classes. bad bad me!

what classes are you taking? are they all five days a week, or do you have some type of rotating schedule?

times have changed a lot since i was in hs, i suppose now there's an option to email your teachers your homework? do some of your instructors create websites for the class, where they post assignments, due dates, reminders? i'm fascinated and quite curious as to how technological advancement has changed the actual learning/teaching portion of school....

OMG, you just reminded me that its been almost 5 years since I graduated.

I think my best memories were the Football games. I had major school spirit! lmao. My friends and I used to paint little paw prints on our face(Our mascot was a Wolf) and we used to put school colored ribbons in our hair. We were so corny! lmao.

I used to love the days when we had music at lunch time, that was the best! We used to have a blast.

Oh, the parties too, man...we used to dance the night away, not care what anyone thought.

My WORST H/S memory is 9th grade Science class! Ugh, the teacher used to make us take notes every-single-day. It was my 1st period class, she used to turn off all the lights and turn the projector on so we could copy the notes...I used to go to sleep! lmao. I had a friend that always stayed up to copy the notes, he used to give me his to copy after school because he knew I was asleep in class

I used to get into a lot of fights too that always resulted in deans detention, thats a bad memory. I dont know if the bad memory is from fighting or sitting in Deans Detention bored out of my mind for the whole day.

i graduated in 2000... so, it's been quite a few years! it wasn't a terrible experience, but i couldn't wait to get out... i'd say that i had better memories of college. i had a wonderful small group of friends in high school, though... but most of them have gotten married and starting their own families, and we stay in touch often. there were some good memories here and there, but there really isn't any that sticks out in my head at the moment... maybe i'll return to this thread when i think of something. :)

9th grade, I remember registering late and the only elective class available was parenting class. It was traumatizing to say the least...
I ditched most classes when I was in 10th grade... I almost failed
Junior year, I fell madly inlove and got my heart broken pretty badly.
Senior year was a breeze!

^a freshman and all those advanced classes already! you're gonna have no trouble getting into yale

speaking of handing in papers or emailing, that totally reminded me how BIG of a deal it was when a 10th grade teacher i had made the *oh so demanding and unheard of* stipulation that you had to TYPE your essays. i was in a panic, i didn't even have a computer, let alone how to turn one on. i had to convince my dad to pay out like $2500 for PC, not to mention more for a printer. hahaha. my best friend typed essays on a typewriter all through high school, true story. LOL

but wow was it a BITCH rewriting drafts of essay when you had to HAND WRITE the hole thing...

anyway, enough of my tangents, lol.

what does your marketing class look like? do they take you through basic econ first, then move on, or have they started teaching econ to 8th grade levels?

My best memories of high school are the football and basketball games because our school was really into sports. I also remember going out with my best friends who went to an all girls HS and going to one of the all boy's high school football and basketball games and they would never allow a girl in the student section with them so we always had to sit far away. I remember how layed back everything was and never having much homework. I went to a catholic high school and our teachers were always checking our skirts to make sure they were not folded and that the top button was buttoned. I also remember my history class the teacher let me get away with anything and 2-3 times a month I always convinced him to let us got to lunch for all 3 bells or to take us outside and he always did it so that was great. But I would say my best memories of high school are playing sports. I ran cross country, track, and played basketball and I made some great friends, achieved many goals, and had some great times. I often wish I could go back to high school and play high school sports because I miss them so much and did not persue them in college. My advice would be to get involved in school activities; band, clubs, or sports, it does not matter just be involved and have a great 4 years!

Well, I just finished High School (Secondary School) and am now going onto College (Well Sixth Form, 1 step before University) and I can tell you, that the best times of my life have been during high school. I've finished High School with 4 A*s 7As and 1B, yet still i've done some crazy, but very fun things.

Its all about finding a group of friends, and sticking to them, and adding more people to your group. From going out for midnight picnics and getting a bit drunk, to setting petri dishes of ethanol on fire and nearly burning down a desk in the biology lab, high school is a fantastic place. Just try to retain a bit of innocence :)

And, get involved as much as possible, the most fun i've had, has been during school trips Czech Republic '06 was fantastic, we were near Karlovy Vary camping in wooden huts, and we had an outdoor swimming pool, was fantastic! School trips, extra circulars (guitar group and drama, had some fab times there) and sports if you're into them, love Badminton - especially when it gets really competitive!

Looking back on it, High School has been a hoot, from getting a teacher fired (mean mean man) to having fun nearly every day (like being crowd surfed down the corridor on your birthday!)

You wouldn't think our school was one of the best schools in England would you?!
