Question for all the people who dislike the word "moist"

How do you describe really good cake?

Delicious! (but I really have nothing against the word moist).

I don't care much for the c word, but am relatively immune to it unless directed at me. My pet peeve is affect vs. effect. I get annoyed when (seemingly educated) people don't know the difference.

I once knew a guy (friend's bf) who hated the words smoothie and nude. He was also afraid of large breasts, so there must have been some issues there.

How do I describe cake?

"Oh my God!"

. . . or, you know, chocolatey (or creamy).

Oh....how about "functionality"......why not just "function". Overly used during presentations. I hate that.

^^^ oh mine in that category is any item of clothing preceded by "dress," as in "dress pants," "dress slacks," "dress shoes."

Are they not all related to dressing oneself? If you mean work clothes, say work clothes, even office clothes, or construction site clothes, special occasion clothes, festive clothes, lobster-eating clothes, whatever. Hrrmmph.

Although moist is my most hated word, masticate is also up there. Why not just say chew?

Do you remember the old advertising campaign for Prego pasta sauce? They always used to say. "It's in there!" So I guess in some unusual and slightly inappropriate way, it fits.

And I have too many language pet peeves to list. My most recent is when people use the word "rather" in place of whether. The two words are not interchangeable.

I am also particularly bothered when people use "your" in place of you're.
