When people refer to their bridesmaids as their "BM"s.

To me, a BM is a bowel movement.

I don't like the word "intercourse". Especially when it is preceded with "sexual". Please... just call it "sex".

HATE the expression "Prego" when referring to a pregnant woman. Prego is pasta sauce.

Fugly. Grody. Don't really like either of those words.

And I HATE the abbreviation ROFOLMAO or whatever it is. I thought an abbreviation was supposed to make something shorter... not make you sit there and try to figure out what each single letter stands for.

ME TOO!!! Intercourse just sounds...awkward.
Also, I hate it when people call breasts "ladies", "jugs," or "boobies." Or any other weird name.
Im guilty of saying preggers. I like that word more than pregnant.

Argh.
That is so true! If i meet a couple and they say "we are pregnant" I really want to . That to me is just weird.

LVbabydoll and Kare, I agree with you. You can't say you're pregnant like you know what it feels like if you're a guy..

I can't stand when people write/type like that. My boss sends emails out all the time a never capitalizes first names....you get Dear bob. It drives me crazy when he does that and other people at my work are starting to do it too and they don't think it's a big deal when he does it.

I actually use double negatives relatively often. I can't think of a great example of something I've said, but, for example, I could say "I don't not like tomatoes." I don't hate tomatoes, and I don't seek them out or particularly enjoy eating them, but I don't pick them out of my salads. Or "I don't disagree with [her]." I really don't do it to be obnoxious, but to express relatively neutral/wishy washy/less than affirmatively positive feelings about something -- but it can confuse the heck out of people (and often they try to correct me).

Incorrect spelling and bad grammar drive me crazy (though, fortunately, I manage to restrain myself from correcting people). It doesn't help that I'm in a profession in which every word matters, so I tend to overanalyze writings in daily life. I don't mind swearing generally, and am definitely guilty of it more than I'd really like, but I detest the "c" word. Also, of course, I hate racially derogatory and homophobic words.

Oh I have a few, in addition to those mentioned previously...

I HATE HATE HATE:

"Bob, Susie and myself went to dinner..." or "Send your response to Tom and myself..."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's "Bob, Susie and I went to dinner..." and "Send your response to Tom and me..."

I also have to physically restrain myself from jumping all over people who say/write:

"I could of bought that purse"

Oh my gosh, people it's "I could HAVE bought that purse."

I can't stand the word "aint"...my son used it the other day and I totally cringed.

I'm a fan of the word "moist" - it makes me giggle - I used it in some disgusting way at a bbq today. Had everyone rolling (yes, I lack class). I don't like the c-word but honestly the word "c*nty has a certain appeal to me. I probably won't ever use it on anyone but Selena, Irishgal, Chag, Nishi and Sunshine. It seems to suit them the most!
