^ I think it's weird to say "the prom" but it's just my preference. I think it's right either way. OMG I say Nordstroms too! Well I say both..just kind of slips out. Not a huge deal though since everyone knows what you mean.

It does seem rather strange that they added s on the title- very well could be the reason most people seem to think it's "Tiffany's."

If you notice though, all the Tiffany SAs are very careful to refer to by it's correct name. I've always thought that alone would be enough to stymie it's improper usage but thus far it hasn't

Lol yeah me too. I don't know where that one came from but oh well.

ValleyO- you're right! And it seems that they're the only ones that say the whole name like that.
I had never thought about it (adding the s) until you brought it up!

All right, confession!

I hate when people say per sea, per say, persay. It's per se!

And I am totally guilty of it! I caught it after the fact several times and thought, WTH! I know better.

LOL.

Two things I see in headlines a lot that I really don't like are:
1. Baby bump - that sounds SO juvenile and pedestrian.
2. Scary or 'scares us' - as in Mary's scary hairdo. Usually this is in a headline, such as "Mary's dress scares us", or some dumb thing that the authors just don't care for, so they call it 'scary'.

I don't like it when people say "that's like comparing apples to oranges", it doesn't make sense to me because they are both fruit so are actually almost the same thing (considering all the different examples one could use). It is just like saying "pens to pencils", they are only a little different.

I much prefer the British version "chalk and cheese", since those are actually nothing alike!

I can't stand when people use the "class" word like they are the barometer of the word's definition. People who tell others to "have some class" are pretentious and are in desperate need of a personality make-over.

My mom has the weirdest pronunciations that just erk me to no end...

Instead of garbage, she pronounces it as "garb!tch"

And instead of pocketbook, which I can't stand as is, she says "pockabook"

She says ain't alot too, I'm always correcting her

I don't get it . You're either classy or not. You can't add more class. Its not something that can be measured...

Also, since you are a self-proclaimed "classy" individual, please define the qualities that make you one.

Of course I'm classy and I'm a lady after all. I don't chase people around trying to stir things upnor do I need to define myself to anyone
