Some of the stories totally reminded me -- I used to rent an English basement apartment in DC (where part of it was above ground, and I had a little patio out back, but that was below actual ground level.) The guy renting the first floor never put up blinds or curtains in the back. I kept seeing him in various states of intimacy with his girlfriend as I was going in and out and was really uncomfortable with it.
He called one night to completely chew me out for having my outside light on late at night (I'd been out and didn't want to kill myself coming down the steps.) Totally rude, totally uncalled for, given that he'd never said a word to me before. I called back and basically said that, and added he should get some blinds, since I wasn't really a fan of having to be a voyeuse when entering my apartment. We ended up having a nice conversation and discovering that our landlady was jerking us both around and had probably illegally converted the place and was trying to cover it up, but the part about the blinds was pretty funny. |

I keep the blinds closed all the time, so the sunshine can go through, and people canot see through.
My husband and i once lived in the highest apartment building in our neighborhood. I have the binds, but i keep it open all the time when we were living there, since no body can see us, and the view is excellent! |

I don't have curtains, I do have blinds. I open them during the day but close them at night. I live on the third floor but you can still see in. My neighbors always keep their curtains or blinds open at night. I always can see what people are watching on tv.

I have plantation blinds on all but one of my windows. I'm considering putting up a curtain rod/curtain in my bedroom though because the sun peers in during the first half of the day and it gets so warm in there.
