In fact, today I've already gotten high off a new Louis Vuitton Mini Lin that I just ordered from eluxury...I can't stop! Anyways, nice to be here and I look forward to all the superficial obsessing:)

Hi everyone! My name is Minal, and I'm a 24 year old in grad school, possibly in the job market very soon. I live in Poughkeepsie, NY, and not many people here seem to share my fashion interests... luckily the city is close, and with it Bloomies, Saks, etc. I usually shop at The Westchester, and during my college years, was at Short Hills every other second haha. I adore fashion, and have many vices - sunglasses, clothing, shoes, etc. and most certainly bags!!! I adore Chanel (I'm lucky enough to share many with my mom), LV (have a few of my own), my gorgeous brown Chloe Paddington, Dior girly Boston, several Gucci's and Fendi's, etc.
I can't wait to read more posts, you all seem so nice and informative!-Minal |

Hello! I am new to this site, and it really looks interesting. Loads of information on the things I love!
I am retired,...not due to age, but "forced" retirement. I hate it. I cannot return to work due to a disability, but I feel that I am way too young to live such a sedentary life. Unfortunately, it's just about all I can do. I am fully functioning, but my energy levels are zilch. I have been thinking about starting a small business, which after years of research, seems to be a pipe dream, but I am still investigating the possibility. It just seems too expensive for me. I think I could manage to do the work required, as long as I keep it on a very small scale,...but I would abolutely love doing this as part of my daily life! In any event, I love designer styles,...my Mom, and her Mom, were both designers. Not famous, but they could sew absolutely anything from just looking at it! I wish I had their skill, but I do not,....just the champaign taste, and beer pocketbook :). I worked in white collar corporate jobs most of my life, and for the most part, it was ok, but now I want to find something to do that I can love,...not just tolerate. Also, I want to own some of the nicer things I see in the magazines, and upscale boutiques. Since I cannot afford to shop those stores, I am looking for bargains. I am not a snob. If it "looks" good, that's all I care about :). I guess that's the reason I joined your group. I hope we can become friends, and perhaps, I can learn some things, and you can all offer your ideas for me! I am looking forward to chatting with you all! Thanks, Katsie |

Hello fellow shopaholics!
I just moved to Austin, Tx in august and am absolutely loving it! if anyone is visiting in the near future, message me and I will tell you what to do and where to go! I have a rottweiler puppy I adore, and love to run, read, and of course shop!! I got a Speedy 30 for my birthday recently and adore it. I am planning on the Chanel Cambon in beige for Xmas..we shall see...hint hint boyfriend! :) I love clothes, fashion, designers' inspriration (especially Coco Chanel) so i would love to study fashion, but also plan to go to law school. Bit of a dilemma. Everyone have a happy holiday this year!! xx |

Hey everyone, my name is Anjli, and I guess I wouldn't be a member of this site if I didn't
handbags. I'll just cut to the chase and introduce to you my handbag collection to date: Louis Vuitton: mono. canvas papillon, mono. multi white minisac, mono. panda pochette accessories, mono. perfo pochette plate, mono. cerise agenda, and mono. groom round coin purse (what a mouthful). Gucci: mink clutch with encrusted, double-headed dragon brooch; autumn-winter 2004/2005 - TOM FORD's last collection for Gucci. Stella McCartney: black patent faux-leather clutch with brass chain and medallion; autumn-winter 2006/2007. Escada: baby pink eluna (with interchangeable straps). Longchamp: les pliages 10th anniversary bag by Tracy Emin. Pierre Hardy: from the shoe designer's first handbag collection, spring-summer 2006, a brown suede & black patent trim messenger bag, effectively unmarked, with a dangling, circular mirror. These are what I like to call the 'indie' designers: Allison Burns: faithfull sling bag (as first seen on Cameron Diaz at the premiere of Shrek II). Bulga: the bag that looks like a butterfly, made famous by Ms. Jessica Simpson. Kooba: sienna - I'm sure we all know who made this one a hit. =) Thus, I'm sure you would agree that I am seriously obsessed by bags. I have rather stringent rules that dictate which bags I try to include in my collection. Generally, the way a bag actually looks is never the top priority for me. Specifically, I try to collect: (a) Firsts: a bag from the very first season that a designer designs handbags (for example, Pierre Hardy). (b) Lasts: A bag from the very last season that a designer designs handbags, for example, for a particular house (Tom Ford for Gucci is a very good example). For example, I have yet to buy a Dior bag, and imagine I would when Galliano leaves the house, or drops dead. (c) Collaboratives: a bag designed by a designer / celebrity for another designer / fashion house (examples: Tracy Emin for Longchamp, Gwen Stefani for lesportsac). (d) Indies: a bag designed by an initially unknown designer, who is catapulted into the spotlight after a celebrity carries their bag (example: Cameron Diaz & Allison Burns). (e) Limited Editions: I admit, I am starting to loathe this concept, as it seems everything these days is 'limited edition'. However, probably one of the best examples (that I still covet and absolutely regret not owning) is the 2005 released Chanel 2.55 reissue. This, in my humble opinion, is truly a limited edition. Examples from my collection would be any of the Louis Vuittons, minus the papillon. I'll end with the bags that I would still love to get: YSL: from spring-summer 2002, the mombasa bag by Tom Ford. this, I believe is the only YSL bag worth owning, as it was the first bag that gave YSL credibility in accessories (according to Tom Ford's book, TOM FORD). It is a gorgeous bag, and if I owned it, it would have definite sentimental value to me, particularly, as the first beach I ever went to was Mombasa Beach in Kenya. Basically, I desire to have a Tom Ford designed bag from each the houses that he has designed and wil design for. Chanel: the original, September 1st 2005 released 2.55 reissue in any colour or size. This bag needs no introduction or explanation. Louis Vuitton: I desire to have a bag from every collaboration since Marc Jacobs became creative director for the house in 1997. My collection is missing a (1) graffiti bag from 2001, (2) a fantasy bag from 2002, and (3) a cherry blossom bag from 2003. Thanks for reading my post! Now you know everything there is to know about my love for handbags. Cheers! |

Hello everyone, my name is Liz and I am a law student living in New York City. I have always been into fashion but up until lately, shoes were my main weakness and although I still love them, handbags are starting to occupy my thoughts/funds more and more. I have a few Louis Vuitton items, some bought for me and some "inherited" from my stepmother, as well as a few bags from other designers. I am excited to join this forum- truth be told, looking at the photos of birkins posted here keeps me motivated to do my homework, in the hopes that I will get a good job and be able to buy my own Hermès bags someday!
