i am traveling to the UK this friday and i need to go somewhere locally that sells a U.S. to european power adapter and not online, since time is obviously an issue. i didn't even anticipate this until my mom brought it up. since this will be my first trip to europe, it's something i haven't thought of or realized.
do places like target or home depot sell these sort of adapters? i saw online that radio shack sells them but i haven't checked locally yet. i wanted to put this out there in case someone has a good recommendation. i just need an adapter for my curling iron and to charge my camera and cell phone while i'm over there, so i imagine something simple that i can just plug into the wall (not necessarily high wattage)? i know this sounds completely ridiculous, but i guess i'm a bit clueless. thanks!!!! |

I just got one at Target about a month ago.
You'll want to check with your cell phone provider, you may not have service in Europe... |

I have a travel voltage converter/adapter from Radio Shack. Be sure to get one that works as a converter and not just a plug adapter. I fried a charger when I was in China with the wrong thing. If you're staying at a hotel, you should also ask to borrow one at the front desk. It's usually complimentary.

Are you only going to the UK or the rest of Europe as well? If yes, you need two different adapters as there's different plug systems in the UK and on the continent. The UK uses 3 square-ish pins, the rest of Europe 2 round pins. Hope that helps and have a great trip!

I got mine at RadioShack. As Archipelago already mentioned get one that converts the voltage if your curling iron, cell phone etc. can't convert the voltage themselves.

I actually bought one on the plane to the UK once! But as others said, try Radio Shack or Brookstone.
And then theres SkyMall: http://www.skymall.com/shopping/deta...d=102717907&c= |
